It’s kinda crazy that the first All Might vs AFO fight has had such a massive effect on MHAs world and characters yet we know none of the details but it’s clear that Nighteye had a role in it with how he behaved during the whole hospital thing, like you said at the very least he must’ve been involved in the planning part. For a while I honestly expected AFO to exploit Nighteye’s relationship to All Might through doing some twisted shit related to his death the same way he did with Nana and Tenko, but ig he didn’t even care enough lmao. nomu nighteye commissioned by afo from garaki still real in my heart tho.

I always wondered too what AFO thought of Foresight. On one hand it seems like a quirk he’d want for the morbid factor of belonging to All Might’s sidekick alone, but it might have not fit into his plans with how risky Foresight is. At the end of the day I imagine he’s had his sights on him from the moment he became a sidekick until his death but ultimately deemed him not big of a threat enough to do drastic actions against him. I think his sense of superiority def played a part too. Like I can imagine AFO saw nighteye as a little annoying ant he could crush at any moment if he felt funny, but once again, not a regular ant, but an annoying one bc he was the brain behind the operations and like it or not that IS a real threat to the villain world.

But hell maybe he purposely wanted to keep him alive to use him as a hostage or a manipulative trump card against AM should the perfect chance arise. Like “do/don’t do this or I’ll make your sidekick explode from the inside out with one of my quirks.” Maybe he shed a real tear when nighteye died bc he went shit I can’t emotionally manipulate All Might dangling this guys life in front of him anymore… it doesn’t hit the same if it’s just the corpse :( Nothings said in canon but it’s hard to imagine he didn’t try to fuck with him at least a couple of times during the sidekick era. Since he loves playing with All Might adjacent people like toys. Like bro prob got kidnapped a couple of times

I think ultimately that’s his favorite thing to do and it takes over everything else, even if Nighteye being alive is a threat to the villain operations. Like AFO gets so tunnel visioned by the goal of spiting Toshinori he just couldn’t pass on the chance to keep him around. I think that’s how I see it as of currently 🤔
