I can still remember how disgusted Italia felt when she was suspicious that Luisito had an idea about the ambush, but the latter answered with “I didn’t know that they’ll do that, Tali!”. Chapter 55 reveals that he, indeed, not only had an idea about it, but was also present when the plan was being formulated. Italia called him a liar that time, and maybe, she was right all along. I think it shows how Luisito truly remains as someone selfish, but everything changes when Italia is involved. It's refreshing reading about a character like him, so bad, but so good too XD
I also love how consistent Lui’s character was written. From the get-go he was not portrayed as someone who would do the right thing (especially if he and his loved ones aren’t affected).
Notice how his only concern was, “if they didn’t think anyone would notice such a large-scale disappearance” and not “planning a massacre is morally and legally wrong.”
