Idk im not a professional but they can rig it how ssbu rigs their 3d models to make it compatible for vr and just make it so the polygon skeleon on blender, creative cloud, and game maker matches with the 2d sprite sheets then just port it to steam? Im pretty sure they somehow rotoscoped models in omk and omkc so I believe they can pull it off in a bigger scale and budget.
