As a writer, I like to reply to ao3 comments bc in my pov, it’s sort of a two way route of thanks and appreciation! I feel like it’s nice to thank people who took the time to comment, because not everyone does, so as a reader I really appreciate writer reply’s, even if it’s 5 words! HOWEVER!! I don’t get upset if someone doesn’t, and blocking u is wild, I think readers prefer if the world revolved around them

yeah i agree with u bc i often comment abt very particular plot points or quotations or maybe even a question or a theory so i expect a reply back for that! but if it’s a mere “thank you, i love x … etc” comment it’s needless (meaning that i don’t expect anything back as a reader). i personally reply back to all comments i get bc i appreciate them a lot it just may take me a while to get to them sometimes. i wish people were a bit more idk appreciative of storytellers. i’m not upset abt this incident but it’s yk the accumulation of many other things i’ve noticed in the fandom that makes it more disappointing and seem rather pointless for me to continue writing for it.
