thanks ☹️ lol omg i thought magic 8 balls were on the same level of toys such as rubik cubes in terms of popularity but i guess not (i never watched stranger things but i know the kids had magic 8 balls there idk since it's set in the 80s idk might be wrong lol but if i'm right then that show is very popular so i thought they made them popular again idk). it's understandable that you missed those details since the story is from tae's pov and he's definitely oblivious to those things, but yea jimin always made the first move 👀 after they saw each other for the first time, passing by each other, it's very likely that jimin followed tae bc it's mentioned that tae went to the part of the park where only old people went to yet jm found him there very easily. kind of a creep move bc tae went to his house to get yeontan and then walked to the part lol so jm watched him for a while. then at school, yea jm ignored tae and tae was very sad but tae also didn't try to approach jm at all 🥴 and then during sex education class jm walked to where tar was and kind of got close to him, and then jm asked to be his partner for the project and then when they went to tae's house (and they kissed and all that) he purposely left early so they'd have to meet again to start the project and also to keep tae from going to his date with jisoo ... etc etc so yea jm liked him from the beginning and tae was the only person he wanted to see and say goodbye to when that horrible thing happened :(

lol not silly, but hopefully the reason you didn't know is like a cultural difference and not bc you're way too young to remember that toy and therefore way too young to be reading my fics 🥴 to answer your question, at that moment jm was a little nervous to ask about the girls that he thought tae might have a crush on (chae bc she was the only person tae talked to bc they did school projects together, and jisoo, who was from a different class, bc he heard she asked tae to go on a date with her), so jm was asking the 8 ball if he should go for it and ask tae if he really liked them, sort of like flipping a coin. also asking things like "does he like me?" 🥺 hehe very innocent things like that, bc even if he was so confident and bold all the time he was still super nervous in tae's presence. he liked tae since he saw him for the first time at the park and then at school he was super puzzled by tae's personality and the way others treated him. so yea, then he stole the 8 ball as a souvenir hehe to remember that day and their kiss 😬 i hope you liked the fic btw, it's one of my personal faves but it's a flop lol with very few kudos and comments

now, sorry but i'm gonna confirm what jk said lol and it's all due to tae's upbringing; he's filthy rich and acts accordingly:
-it is mentioned in ch 1 that he used to laugh at jk's siblings joke about jimin; that jimin is jk's "poor friend", and he never had the intention to meet jimin even though he knew jimin was someone important to jk. also in the same ch, when tae finds out jimin worked waiting tables in the charity events and birthday dinners, he was worried that he might have been mean to jimin and maybe that was why jimim was so cold to him, and if he was worried about that then he's definitely been mean to some waiters and staff in the past, also he says he doesn't even look at those people 🥴
-he's also lazy and he's used to getting away with everything since his assistant yoongi always cleans his mess. but tae's been forced, in a way, to be like this bc his dad thinks namjoon is the only one with brains and always reminds tae that he will never be as good as nj... which is why tae is jealous of nj. so he gives up easily and doesn't make an effort.
-now that i've mentioned yg i have to mention hobi, and also note that both are very loyal to tae, but obviously he pays them a lot since they see a lot of stuff they have to keep a secret. and later i mention that jk is the only one who knows about tae's sexual orientation but definitely yg and hobi know as well. but it's not the same bc it's not like tae came out to them lol they just see stuff (drugs related and sex partners related) and have to be discreet about it and they gather that THAT'S the real reason for the insane amount of money tae pays them.

but there are struggles despite his privilege and entitlement, and i feel like these might not fully answer your question about his personality but are informative nonetheless:
-idk if you read IFTPWIWY before reading LC but there's a paragraph about tae's internalized homophobia and how after being with jimin he changed, and in LC jk is the only one (in his privileged circle) who knows about tae's sexual orientation and tae still avoids talking about it with jk to the point that jk was under the impression it was just a sort of fetish thing; having sex with escorts or guys who did it for money and then go back to a nice rich girl that his parents approve of.
-he's a drug addict and he's been to rehab a few times (mentioned in ch 3, and eventually it will be mentioned at which age he started and other details).
-his relationship with his family is a mess (how he felt about his parents growing up is mentioned in ch 2, and so far it's been kinda vague he he doesn't get along with his older brother namjon, and eventually you'll know about his sisters too) but despite the mess he's used to having to act like a perfect family when they throw those charity balls and in front of other rich families and connections such as jk's family (also a mess and they all bullied jk growing up).

-also, his current obsessive behavior when it comes to jimin is very telling of his behavior in general and before jimin 👀 he acts like he has to have what he wants...
but yea, being so pathetic and trying to please jimin all the time is definitely something new hehe😬

that's your interpretation and i'm okay with it but i disagree. tae was drunk and he reacted that way bc he's madly in love with yg and he couldn't help feeling jealous, but he apologized to yg and tried to be supportive of yg about the date even if it hurt. now, yoongi is also in love with tae and he was very jealous of tae's (ex)bf too. and yes he got excessively anxious about the whole hand on thigh situation and tae's reaction but that's bc he has anxiety lol. it was definitely not the type of fear he experienced with his ex husband. then tae didn't tell him he broke up with wooshik bc he didn't want yg to feel guilty in any way. idk, tae just isn't very good at hiding his feelings but he wasn't trying to be manipulative or anything; he just couldn't hide his jealousy but he still tried his best to be a supportive friend.

i admit i did add some flirtation between taegi while tae was STILL dating wooshik (those stares and touching yg's ankle and being shirtless in front of yg knowing it flustered yg lol also making yg feel his muscles in the previous chapter...) and maybe that was a bit of a dick move on tae's part bc why was he even dating someone he didn't like, but he was going through hard times after yoongi's attempt so.. idk, he's only human :(

it really surprises me bc he's such a lovable character, but it's okay and i understand where you're coming from; i feel like rcb yg inspires that feeling of wanting to protect him from everything and not wanting to see him suffer in any way.
