Are you able to live comfortably as a freelance loc editor?

Yes, but there are a few circumstances that allow me to do so.

  1. I am married without kids. I don't rely on Mr. Bish's income, nor does he rely on mine. We split payments pretty evenly, and we both pay rent. Also, we have a roommate that brings the rent down even further. We are currently decently satisfied with our living arrangements.

  2. The area we live in (on the cusp of a city) isn't as cheap as where I grew up (in the rural midwest), but it's certainly not as expensive as say, LA or NYC.

  3. I don't have very high expenses. I am fortunate enough to not have outstanding health issues so there are only a few personal medical things I have to pay for.

  4. I work a lot, sometimes 7 days a week, though usually it's in short bursts where many projects overlap. That being said, I enjoy my job, and I chose to work in this field and continue to choose working in this field.

  5. My and Mr. Bish's hobbies are...well, pretty much just gaming, and things related to my field. So even when I'm not working, I'm usually consuming media that is related to my work! I like to read visual novels for fun and also think about the localization choices that went into it. Anyway, point is, it's a somewhat cheap hobby compared to other hobbies out there.

TLDR: Yes, but it's because I don't (have to) spend a lot of money.
