Hello! In the guidelines for writer applications, it says a Izuku and/or Bakugou centric piece is required, but in the writer application, it says a Izuku and/or Bakugou piece is preferred but not required. Is it required or not? Thank you!

Hello! Both the guidelines and applications for writers say that one piece must be BNHA, while a piece featuring Izuku and/or Katsuki is preferred but not required. As of now, there are no errors in our apps or guidelines. If there is somewhere else that you are seeing an error, please let us know!

For writer applications, are excerpts of unfinished pieces allowed in the portfolio?

Anonymous Citizen · 17d

Hi! You've probably been asked this before so I'm sorry if this comes out as annoying, but if I remember correctly, you guys mentioned you are now allowing writers to apply for more than one wordcount in the same form. Just to double check: If I want to apply for 12k and 15k, do I still need to send two different forms, or do I just put the 12k and 15k fics in the same portfolio and mark them both in same application?

Hello! I was wondering if the email I will be using to fill up the application forms will matter in terms of the anonymity requirement? I'm using my art gmail account to keep everything in one place but switching for the sake of the requirement is definitely not a problem.

Hello! Emails are not being looked at for anonymity! They will be used only for results. Thank you!

I don't know if my ask went through before, I was wondering which is correct for the writer submissions in terms of how much can be in the portfolio? On the guidelines and the form for submission it says 6-9 but on the video example it says up to 10. I want to be sure my portfolio is within guideline requirements before I apply

Hello! Looking through our video, the multiple retrospring questions, and the guidelines, there was a small error. While the writer app says 3-6, the video says up to 10. Due to this, up to 10 pieces may be in your portfolio. Anything above this will result in disqualification. Please ensure to have a piece that matches the word count you are applying for, or your application will be disqualified.

Are we still able to edit submissions? I clicked on multiple options for the word count based on what was in my portfolio, but I also chose an in-between option (and I apologize if I have misunderstood!). If have a range of word counts for example, such as 12k samples, can I still apply for 10k, or am I only able to apply for 12k, even though have 12k stories more or less proves I could write a 10k? Thanks for any clarification!

Hello! The editing period of one week has officially ended and no more edits will be allowed. We also will not accept a 12k story for a 10k word count due to the word count buffer. Thank you!

Quick question, I use Word for my fics, so I will be transferring them to google docs to create the drive portfolio and sample folders. Will the docs being new be a problem?

Hello, new documents should not be a problem! Just ensure the permissions are set to viewable!

Hello, there is a strict word count buffer of 100 words above and below. Thank you for the question!

Anonymous Citizen · 1mo

Is it okay if we go like 100 words above or below the wordcount min/max for our main samples? So like 1.9k or 3.6k, instead of strictly 2k-3.5k? I have a sample I'd really like to use but it's just a little over WC limit :(

Hello! Currently, we allow an absolute, strict 100 words buffer for the upper and lower limit of the sample word counts. For example, 1899 or 3601 words will be eligible for disqualification. Hope this helps!

Hey! I love that you want to be more writer-centric! Do you already have an idea how many writers you will accept? Or are you planning to keep the number roughly the same as most other zines and just give the writers more room to play with a higher word count? Both options are good, I'm just curious as a consumer! Thank you so much for your time!

Hello! The goal is to accept twenty writers maximum. However, this can fluctuate based on applications, but we want to ensure we have as many writers as possible!! Thank you!

Hi! I just filled out my application for 6k. I then wanted to do another application for 3k because I could only choose one word count per application but it tells me that the form can only be filled out once. Should I alter my application in some way and simply add my second portfolio to it? I am a bit confused on what to do here, sorry :')

Hello! We went ahead and edited that question to allow you to choose more than one option since we have gotten a few questions about this. Please ensure your portfolio has pieces that reflect the word count choices! Thank you for your support!

Anonymous Citizen · 1mo

Hello! Pretty sure this question's been asked before and (if it has, I'm so sorry to be so annoying) but if I'm applying, for example, for a 9k wordcount and submitting a portfolio with 3 works in it: do all the works need to be 9k?

Anonymous Citizen · 2mo

Can you clarify what exactly a spot artist is?

Hello! Spot artists will be assigned 2 fics to create a small artwork for them. This will go with the story, and will typically take up half a page or less. Thank you!

Anonymous Citizen · 2mo

Do we have to submit a portfolio or can we only submit 3 samples?

Anonymous Citizen · 2mo

Will you be prioritizing applicants who have not been in zines before?

Hello. We will be accepting people based on voting scores, and as they are blind, we will not know who the apps belong to until the very end. Each application will be scored purely on what we stated in the guidelines!
