being trapped in the attic seems like a fun time for SPOOKY STORIES, to me

i'll tell you a spooky story anon . when i was a kid in first grade and we moved to oregon, to the dome house , a man stopped by to tell us a bit about the late artist who built the house, frans. the man was apparently a friend of his, and he came bearing a self-portrait of frans. the painting was of a man screaming and clutching his stomach as a light burst from his chest. the man said "frans wants to see his home again" and told us he'd be back for it in a year. we did not see him again for nearly ten years

when he finally came back i was a teenager. we had kept the painting in the front hallway for a decade. he retrieved it with no explanation and gave us a smaller print of it to keep, which we put up in its place. i was fine with seeing it go, i never liked the painting much, it was a little creepy - frans had died in the home and it was an uncanny image all things considered

by that time i was taking art classes across town in oregon city . the building at which i took the classes was kind of a community center, a low budget establishment, not a lot of throughput. that same week that the man took frans' painting away, i went to attend my class. above the table at which i did my classwork, right above where i usually sat, was frans' self-portrait - the original. the man, without knowing anything about my life, had donated it to the center and they had placed it there within a matter of days. it followed me there

i will post an image of the painting in the replies! frans was also a career mime btw
