i’ve picked up on the fact you’ve mentioned a lot regarding ratio and his humanity! i wanted to get this out earlier but this had me thinking for a good minute if im being honest😭😭tried cooking but ended up setting everything on fire

To say that I struggle to decipher Ratio is an understatement. I feel like he often teeters between the line of loathing his humanity (or at least part of it) and coming to accept it. He does in my interpretation–that is.

Being human and bearing the burden of being yet another cog in the machine is likely something he is well aware of. If humanity is yet another mold that we all as people aim to fit, how do we know whether we are the ones who have forced that cookie-cutter shape upon others or something we’ve crafted in our own image?

Humanity, at least to him, is a spectrum. And it’s far too easy to dumb it down and think of humanity as a sense. We have yet to figure out whether we have lost that sense or if that sense is all we cling to as people. However, what happens if we cannot handle the weight of said awareness? And what exactly defines us as less than human or more than others? Perhaps—we are the cause of these problems.

And yet, he is inevitably human to the point that he can point out these “flaws” within others and at times, even in himself.

fffeeel free to disagree with some of this or change some of it!! Im kinda struggling with writers block atm 😢 and this kinda turned into a rant about part of ratios philosophy or whatever but sorry if part of this doesnt make sense because english isnt my first language and i may have been too busy with RAHHHHUY ratio anon again but that was too obvious.. gotta step up my game

ratio anon…u make my mornings bright…

I feel like he often feels ‘limited’ by his humanity in a way, that being another reason why he strives for (bodily) perfection. Contrary to other species around HSR, humans don’t have any particularly spectacular skills or looks, so he wants to prove ‘despite our insignificance we can become something great’, if that makes sense… but not ‘we’ as in human society, ‘we’ as in the abstract concept of humanity as a whole. Speaking of humanity as a concept itself, I feel like he has a deep resentment towards certain standards, certain ways the machine works, but because he’s unable to trim those issues as old as millennia at the root, he takes on teaching as a way to hopefully trim them down… if that makes sense…
