Is there a metric like $10 = 1k fic or like $50 = 5k fic?
There used to be, but we switched a simpler pricing model. But if you wanted a longer fic I think it would be acceptable to do tiers like that.
A lot of the writers write way more than the 1k floor to begin with though.

hii~ It's a gotcha style event so it'll be whoever wants to grab your request first! if there's someone you specifically want to request something from i encourage you to reach out to them specifically and see if they're doing donation commissions as an individual ^^

Hi! This is just to let you know that the collection called “comms for Gaza” isn’t allowed on ao3 because you can make no mention or reference to commissions. That puts ao3 on shaky grounds, so they can remove the entire collection if reported. So the collection name should probably be changed to “fics for Gaza” or something like that!

yes!! thank you for reminding me also. i made an ao3 collection i need to link. it's just the managing of getting prompts to volunteers that's managed through discord, all of the prompt fills will be retweeted/posted to this twitter.

Hi so I wanna sign up (as a writer) but I genuinely do not think I’m capable of writing nsfw or DD atp do you expect there’ll be a sizable chunk of sfw prompts that I’d be able to claim or should I leave it to the nsfw/dd pros 😅
Given the focus from us on being Dead Dove, it's really hard to say...

Sincerely excited for this since it was a dead dove event and is ready to donate but disappointed about the underage restriction since that's well...dead dove ; w ; can we still pitch a sketch prompt and see if someone would take it or...?

I sincerely understand where you're coming from on that! Perhaps it will change - I was reluctant to add it there since it's very much apart of Dead Dove. With the banning of some of my mutuals for what I suspect to be related to their art explicitly depicting such things, I wanted to err on the side of caution. I hope you can understand where I'm coming from with that!
I suppose though, a better wording for it could be is "Sexual Depictions of explicitly underaged characters." I hope that makes sense and that you can still get what you want without compromising too much. Kind of like, wink wink nudge nudge, you know?
I can also bring it up further with the other volunteers and see what they think. I know that a good handful of them aren't opposed to filling such prompts themselves (if I understand correctly, anyway). I just want to ensure the event can remain standing.

How long would the writing portion be expected to be? I work full time but would love to participate, I’m just worried about how much I’d be able to come up with in 5 days.
I totally hear you on how that is quick turn around time for sure, especially when you're already working full time.
I think at minimum, within 5 days we would ask for you to at least have it started or have a plan. (Perhaps bullet points about generally how you would like the fic to go?) Not to say that it can't change, but I hope it is fair to ask that volunteers show good faith in making progress on the prompts they claim. We can play it by ear.
The mods are here to help and happy to support you if anything does come up or you need more time.

how long will you be accepting volunteers for?
Honestly, not certain at this point. I'm also not sure whether or not to do a set period for the donations or if I want to do it on a rolling basis. For now, I'm playing it by ear, but if I decide to close sign-ups for volunteers I'll be sure to notify it in advance so people who want to squeeze in still can.

Hi I would really like to join this, but I am only able to write short oneshots (1k - 2k words) or some sketches on paper (could be lined). Poems songs etc. Is this enough or are you looking for people who would be able to engage more?
Hiya! That's totally okay and enough!
I wanted to design a system that allowed people with busier schedules to be able to engage as they're able to. (I'm very much someone who can't take on a lot right now!) There's no telling what sort of requests will come in yet, but the writing tiers do not exceed 2,500 words at this time.
And I would say I want to encourage some amount of collaboration, for example if you were able to do a sketch for a fully colored piece and then someone else is able to color it, I think that's wonderful. But ultimately, I want to have the volunteers elect to take the prompts that interest them and have the capacity for.
