Can I include a piece that's less than 1.5k words in my writing portfolio? (I'm assuming that the 'no content restriction' doesn't apply to word count)
Yep, there are no word count restrictions for portfolio pieces. Consider a free space for you to share your best work besides the 3-4 samples that you submit for your app. :)

had a quick question: with the extension of apps, how will that affect the acceptance/rejection emails timeline? i applied but i'm going to be without internet access for two weeks just after the new app closing date and i'd hate to miss out on being a part of the zine (if accepted, of course!) because i was too late to accept my spot and i know results can take a few days to put together 🥺

You said in the contributor guidelines that there’s no major character death in the zine, can I still apply using a major character death piece even though I won’t write one if in accepted
Yes, you can apply with a piece that has major character death. There are no restrictions for application samples as long as you tag properly in your application form.

I want to apply for the non-standard section but I’ve never written a letter only fic. I have a fic that is part standard and has a letter in it, can I use that and still apply for the non-standard section
Yes, that would work as a non-standard sample! So long as the sample features non-standard writing, we will accept it as part of your application.

What kinds of merch will this project have?
Hi there! We'll be sharing more details on specific merch items in the future, but for now, we share details on what kinds of items to expect in our Contributor Guidelines. This includes acrylic charms, washi tape, stickers and others. We're also working on a secret Limited Edition item that will be unveiled closer to the time of pre-orders opening!
