hi!! v excited for this fest! i had a question. are the following two allowed: (1) roleplaying cheating and (2) accidental/unknown cheating

Cheating can happen between the members or with each other or on someone else entirely. As long as someone's cheating!!

I think one of the many highlights your fest has is the possibility to write villain bangtan. When I read a BTS fic, of course I want to see tannies working on their happiness and being good boys.
However, thanks to your fest, people who participate will have the state of mind to accept and process a villain Tannie. This is literally like a spy game!! We have seen how Tannies can sabotage the other members, lmfao, they can be so conniving and ruthless to win that rice cooker!! xD xD
And all the people who participates here can see that game: "Today we'll play with the Tannies ¿who of them will gonna be the spy??" I like that a lot xD
Loving the way you think! Cheating can be a trope fitting for any setting. If a writer feels it's right to have a villain cheat on their significant other, in any shape or form, go at it ❤️ This fest will give you the space to explore it!

It makes way more sense to have a “morally grey” or “guilty pleasure” theme for the fest. Highlighting cheating specifically is not only weird as hell but also leaves so much nuance, if this then that etc
Cheating does entail being morally grey and/or the guilty pleasure. However, allowing writers and readers to explore cheating specifically gives them the chance to read/write about these things in a definite manner (in whatever nuance they see fit), and in a safe space. Respectfully, if you think cheating for a fic fest is weird, then it is not for you and you are free to proceed to other fests that will fit your preferences.

hello!! I'm so glad you're doing this fest! Just wanted to say that I hope you don't get overwhelmed with all the asks about tagging and whatnot. I feel like people are capable of just not participating if they don't like the theme, there are plenty of other fests and stories to read that don't include cheating between the main pairing and are tagged as such on ao3. I really hope it doesn't sway you mods from sticking to this super fun and spicy idea <3

First, congratulations for making this amazing fest!! This idea is wonderful and I am very grateful you're giving us writers a safe space to explore dark content (I mean "cheating" as dark content... It shouldn't be but I understand it's very polarizing).
Second, of course I'll wait for your polls and their results, however, I think it will be very good to have some unique tags for this fest, it deserves them!!! I think those 3 you said are reasonable: "cheating between members", "cheating with the members", "cheating on the members with someone else". And maybe the end-games or not-end-games could be using already existing tags from ao3 like "end game" or "lovers to exes" or something like that?
I checked some tags and they already have "Cheating Jeon Jungkook" and "Cheating Park Jimin (BTS)" but I'm not sure if they refer as the cheaters or being cheated on...
Anyways, you're doing such great work!!! I can't wait to see more of this fest!! FIGHTING!!! XD XD

And we're glad this fest offers that space ♥️ If the majority would prefer to have warnings on what kind of cheating is happening in the work, we are set to only tag this during fic reveals on Twitter/X and are not requiring it on AO3. We can definitely organize the works into those three categories on Twitter/X for easy navigation, if needed. Any endgame relationships will be tagged on AO3 at the writer's perusal. They are more than welcome to use other cheating-related tags available on AO3.

im a VERY excited reader omg i hope theres lots of fics with cheating between the members bc exploring that hurt and betrayal, regardless of happy or sad ending, is way more fun (for me!) than fics where a member is an affair partner. so thats what im rly excited about :>> thanks for making this fest
