i have learned this wayback jhs, sa english subject namin. sabi ng teacher ko noon, there’s a difference between a writer and an author — everyone can be a writer, but not everyone can be called an author. parehas naman silang nagsusulat, pero there’s a very specific distinction in their meanings na mapapa-“ahh gano’n pala ‘yon” in some aspects.

when we speak about writers, to simply put, they are people who write. kahit ano, be it wattpad novels, medium articles, aus, and other written pieces of some sort; writer ka. pero if you are an author, you have published whatever you have written, either in print or in digital. so meaning to say, author ka kapag nagkaroon ka talaga ng established published work under your name/pen name. as for a writer naman, it is more of a common or general term for people who write.
