it was in response to a prompt we got and we had to use some specific words and one word that we made up;
"Wear your heart on your sleeve"
but my heart is dead
it's been ripped out;
skrulled from my chest by the
one I wanted most
the vines filling the cavity
are climbing up my throat; choking me
no regret
but my heart was steady always
now lying, purple, in a clean white bed
