âËâš â do you listen to music?
it feels odd saying that. everyone listens to music i reckon, whether they intend to or not. not to be all dramatic or whatever, but seriously, you canât avoid it.
and iâm curious. i canât grasp how it must feel to not listen to music intentionally, then to hear it anyway. in stores, from friends, playing in various other public unavoidable areas, finding it be the topic of many social interactionsâŚ
i donât think i could do it. too large a world to miss out on.
i donât get too bad of FOMO myself, but music? all of it?âŚâthatâs different.
i think music is very important. vitalâto understanding others, at least.
the way i see some others speak of it proves thisâand iâm sure youâve heard this sort of thought process before as wellâ, not just simply disliking music, but actually genuinely not being to understand that itâs just as important as anything they do like.
not to say all music carries equal value in the same areas. of course not. some breakcore song does not carry the same value as perhaps something classical.
but again. itâs not that itâs less valuable overall. theyâre different.
both can in fact, i think, say a lot about the people who made it, and why; what the purpose was, what movement it hopes to get across. theres simply so much value to be found. so many types, all lovely to think about.
and itâs fun to listen to, obviously
isnât that lovely, in a way? that you CAN look at it without any deeper meaning, and simply think, easily, that itâs good for its shell of purpose?
i find a lot of people have a hard time doing that with other forms of expression & artistic pieces.
âlooking too deepâ into simple paintings meant to look prettyâfinding a painting symbolic visually stunning without âunderstanding the meaningâ.
these ideas SERIOUSLY cause arguments.
and yet, i donât see anyone saying these things about music. youâre free to not care aboutâlyrics, for exampleâjust as well as you are to dissect them as you please.
itâs unique. brings people together, seriously.
so what kind of music do you listen to, if you do?
why donât you listen to music, if you donât? is there something stopping you, or is it your own active choice maybe? â
yes
i lava industrial music
