pls tell me all of ur favorite things to read about
I assume that you mean fic do I will start with fic but then I will go into all the other things I like reading after that
Friends to lovers is my favorite trope I can wax poetic about how much I love it another time but it’s my favorite. And then second favorite would be cannibalism/technically not cannibalism/which I guess just leads us to monsters as a whole but less so vampires I’m not inherently drawn to them. I also really like fic where the characters are figuring out their sexuality. REOU by sneaky is obvious a huge one for me (and so is it’s all about the u, dix please come back 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻) because i am a yujaeist first and a human second, but I like when characters learn about themselves and who they really are. There are a few johnjaes that hit this for me as well but I can’t remember their names off the top of my head. I’ll read anything yujae. Or johnyu. Or johnyujae. I like when they in love and I like when they’re friends who would go to the end of the earth for each other. I like sports aus and regular ass office worker aus and the hot neighbor with a cat au and I LOVE soc med aus on Twitter they take so much effort, those writers are incredible. I like college aus, I like when writers get niche and include the pens someone uses or the details of someone food prepping. IF YOU LIKE DETAILS OF FOOD PREPPING/COOKING, read Wendy’s chef Jaehyun fic. It’s on going and life changing and she is so talented. I love poly or open relationships and I like cheating fics but NOT cheating as a means to become poly and ALSO ONLY WHEN it’s the ship I like that is villainously kissing each other. I Will explode on thé spot if Yuta or jaehyun ever cheat on each other
Okay not fic - i like reading Wikipedia pages of movies because I don’t like watching movies. Often times I will look up something like the scariest movies and I will just read the plots of them and I will say okay, that would freak me out
I love horror books, more specifically psychological horror. I read a lot more of it when I was younger and now I’m trying to get back into it. I read lots of short story collections. I’m tentative to say that I like true crime novels because I don’t like the true crime is inherently exploitative, but I’ve read a select few that I believe are less exploitative. For example, right now I’m listening to bright young women. My FAVORITE book is a tale for the time being by Ruth ozeki and it is very heavy and there are two narratives that are told throughout the story and I might be mislabeling it but I think the best way to describe it would be that there are elements of magical realism in there. I have Ruth ozeki’s first book as well, my year of the meats, and I’m excited to read that. I LOVE nonlinear timelines. Invisible Monsters was my favorite book for 10 years before I real a tale for the time being so I think that’s influential there lol. I’m getting into science fiction but like LIGHT science fiction I think … there is a book called rabbits by Terry miles (????) … it is a contingency story to a podcast called rabbits, put out by public radio alliance. Available on Spotify. I recommend the book but I recommend the podcast first. It’s in more of a story format and it’s like … reality altering. It’s a little fucky but I love it. I haven’t listened to the second season though but it’s about this secret game called rabbits and the narrator gets involved because her friend goes missing while playing it and there are enforcers who make sure the rules are followed and it’s very good. I want to write a fic inspired by it tbh
Honestly I usually pick books by their covers.
