It's canon that Aubrey introduced Basil into the friend group, so I like to imagine what their friendship was like before then :). I headcanon it being like...hahaha well I think Aubrey thought Basil was a girl at first 😂
Aubrey's adorable little girl curiosity and pushiness of "you're my friend now!" and Basil is like "omhghhgs I never had a friend before..."
And they play dolls together and do each other's hair, until one day at school Aubrey tries to go to the bathroom with him and he stops when they start going into the girl's restroom.
Aubrey tugs his hand harder, "what are you doing, let's go!" Basil is shaky and nervous..."w-well I'm not a girl..."
Aubrey blinks, taken aback. She doesn't believe it. He doesn't act like other boys at all! He's not rowdy, loud, annoying, or mean at all!

Later when they're alone in Basil's room, she makes him pull it out. He's obviously really embarrassed and squirming, but she sits on top of him to inspect. Yes...he is a boy...

I think I've already briefly mentioned that I headcanon they had their first time together, probably around puberty, both not really knowing what they're doing, but future them never talk about it.

Fast forward a few years later after Mari's death, their friendship is really strained.
Aubrey is with her new friend group, but she still hangs out with him every once and while. She's a lot different from the Aubrey back then, she's loud, rash, bullies him. He thinks that she hates him, but why does she still visit him then?
Aubrey probably has this sort of idea in her head where she's like "I can't let anymore know my first time was with him, it would ruin my reputation!" But in reality, no one would believe Basil even if he did say anything 😂

So, the two of them have this strained relationship where Aubrey takes a lot out on him, but he's desperately wishing and willing that the old Aubrey will come back. Surely if he endures all this, then they can still be friends :' )
She acts a lot differently in public versus just them two alone. I hc that she has sexual trauma in her past, she's fighting a lot inside about those feelings and so many other angry feelings. She takes advantage of Basil in a way, but I don't think he doesn't like it. He is not like other boys at all even still, she thinks it's pathetic, but then when he holds her and tells her it's ok she's like DAMNNNN DAMNNNNNNN !!!!! GRAHHHH WTFFFHEJJJKSK (she does not know how to handle these new feelings bubbling up inside !!!)

That's the gist of it , but I have so much more XD me and my friend are doing a rp of them rn :) I also have a lot of drawing ideas for them hehe
