do you agree with the common take right now that horror/thriller focused FVNs are overplayed now?
Not really. I just want there to be more FVN's period. At this point in time, it doesn't matter to me what the genre is.
What is Moriah and April ideal date night?
I wrote a whole Staccato story about it u.u
If the cast were in a Friday the 13th slasher movie situation, who would die first? (Would the answer change if they were in Aliens instead?)
From a director/writer point of view, April would need to die first. April would keep the group together and rational during the whole ordeal, and getting rid of her is like knocking down the first domino.
Hi! I came here to correct a mistake regarding the continuity of your VN, Eddy DOES, in fact, play an instrument, he plays the flesh flute.
Whether or not he's good at it has yet to be determined
Is mayonnaise an instrument?
No Patrick, mayonnaise is not an instrument
How do you recommend going about the writing process for aspiring VN developers?
My #1 recommendation for writing for a VN is to keep your motivation high. Losing motivation is the #1 VN killer.
You basically need to approach it with a "motivation maxxing" mindset. Write stuff that makes you happy. Try to not make the scope of the project too large so you lose your motivation later on. Also, whenever you feel inspired, take advantage of that and start writing. Don't wait and let the inspiration pass by. It can be a fleeting thing.
The other big piece of advice I have to offer is to treat your writing like sculpting clay. You're going to start with a big heap of wet, nasty clay when you start. But that's okay! Over time you'll take that hunk of clay and sculpt it into something beautiful.
will we ever get a scene where eddy gets so hard he passes out?
Will there be a Dave route? He's so cute.. I guess it wouldn't make sense but still I can dream I guess lol
A Dave route is planned! It'll just take a while to get to him. Probably a couple of years, unfortunately.
How about we imagine a world where all the fvn big boys (Axel, Amicus, Chester, Nik, Devon and of course Darrel) are together huh?
Call this hypothetical world "mattress warehouse"
Pat is a really great character, im excited for when his route eventually come around :3 what would you say is the easiest and hardest part about writing him?
I'm excited for his route too! Hopefully I can start it sometime soon 😭.
I think the hardest thing is balancing his positive and negative traits. I don't want him to be an overwhelmingly positive character. I also don't want him to be a terrible one either.
The easiest thing is how I can always look to the person who inspired his design (my late friend) for inspiration whenever I'm stuck writing for him.
Did Pat and Darrell ever consider each other as potential paramours?
Well, there may have been a crushcrushcrush, once upon a time. That's What You Get when you're Caught In The Middle in a friendship between two queer men. However, Pat and Darrell are The Only Exception since things are strictly platonic.
Lol, sorry. Saw "paramour" and I got carried away. To answer seriously, their relationship is platonic only. How this came to be will be revealed in bits and pieces as the story progresses :3.
Hi which animal crossing villagers would each of the cast members be dating (if single in chopro) or be besties with (if they're already dating in chopro)?
I think Flick would get along with Cliff. I don't know much about Animal Crossing, I'm afraid. That's all I got.
Heya Bowser - any tips for planning out and establishing a visual novel idea? As in, laying the foundation work to start working and writing from? (I'd like to commit to giving it a shot but I'm not sure where to start from)
Best way I can recommend getting started is to begin the tasks that you're most inspired to tackle first. There isn't a 100% "correct" approach to building your VN's foundation, it's all about what makes you happy and keeps you motivated to work on the project.
If you have ideas for characters, start making some character sheets for them! List out all the basic stuff like species, name, age, body type, etc. Then you can work on drawing them or commission someone to draw them.
If you have an idea for the story, maybe start with an outline. Or, you can just go ahead and start writing up a first draft if you're more inspired to do that.
Can I hug pat?
whats your biggest tips for writing love interests? and who’s been your favorite to write for thus far?
I could write a book on it if you'd let me u.u . I think the biggest things to keep in mind is to not make them perfect. Give them some flaws, or else they'll be boring and there'll be no room for growth. Funnily enough, I see my flawed characters getting the most love. People /really/ love Pat and he's got the most glaring flaws of the bunch.
I think it's also a good idea to construct a romance route from a plot development perspective. What challenges will the couple have to endure? What kinds of things are they going to learn? How will those lessons strengthen their relationship?
