For those who missed preorders, will there be extra bundles for sale after the shipping?
We should have a limited quantity of goodies available after we have completed pre-orders fulfillment
Hello, just curious is there a new est. time for shipment?
We are still on track to have everything shipped by mid-July!
do you think you might end up having leftovers in the future?
If nothing goes wrong (which we hope is the case) be should have a limited quantity of leftovers available after all orders have shipped!
I saw on the FAQ that pre-orders begin February, but I don’t recall seeing anything about that. Is there any updates, or did I miss something super obvious haha?
That was the tentative pre-orders date! I'm sorry we haven't updated it yet, but don't worry we will definitely announce when it is pre-orders time and make it extra clear (spoiler: it's soon)
Sorry for the sudden contact. Will this anthology be sold online outside of Canada?
Yes! This anthology will be available worldwide online and physically to any country Canada currently is shipping to.
Hi mod, I just checked the timeline in carrd and it hasn’t been updated yet. I’m sorry if I missed your tweet, when will we get the result? :D thank you!
It's okay! I'm sorry, I forgot to publish the changes on the carrd.
Today is the last day to apply. Results will be available later this week ☺️
I'm the anon who questioned about 'anthology'-- thanks for your reply! While there are many comic 'anthologies' it IS a term used for works that are primarily written. This isn't to say that comics don't feature written work but I typically see an anthology as mostly written works or a collaboration with art and written fiction. Please consider relabeling it as a 'Comic Anthology', if only for clarity.
No worries, I have added to the carrd and the description of the profile for clarity! Unfortunately the name won't let me add it since it's already too long TT I honestly forget people outside of the djs or comics industry won't know it is a common term there as well!
I do hope to host another one in the future with the focus on writers tho (if there's no more writers harassment and this one works! OTL) So I hope this is okay with you for me to keep using the term for this project c: <3
Is there a reason you're calling this an anthology if you aren't accepting writers? My intention isn't to be rude, but I was incredibly disappointed to learn that writers cannot apply unless they know an artist. Not all of use do, and without writing, it isn't really... an anthology? It's a comic/art fanbook. Which is great! I just think the verbiage is a little misleading.
No worries, is not rude. But from my understanding and my personal experience in the industry anthologies are not writing (copy) exclusive.
Comic anthologies have been around for a very long time, Marvel and DC used to have theirs during their golden era quite often but not so much now. A lot of graphic novels and publishing houses with focus on visual stories also use the term anthology to refer to the collection of them in certain situations or themes.
So no, I do not think it's misleading but I can see why is not a common thing in fandom spaces 😊
the zine carrd said that you have past experience running solo projects, could you list/link them? just for peace of mind since the genshin zine scene is a little.. yeah... sometimes > <
That is fair, the biggest one I've ran on my own is the ynkk zine, both volumes: https://twitter.com/ynkkzine
I'm currently managing and running the I7 Bento project with my friend's help for graphics as well: https://twitter.com/id7bento
I have ran several Kickstarters too (In case you are worried/wondering about funds management): https://www.kickstarter.com/profile/sunowls/created
And these type of projects are extremely similar to what I do irl. I manage a lot of big name brands and projects for their marketing campaign so I know how to manage people, timelines and production not only in fandom but irl too.
All that being said, if you feel uncomfortable with just myself as the mod for this, I totally understand and might be better to not apply if that's the case.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions c:
Are contributors guaranteed anything? Like physical bundle or similar?
Yes, it's covered in the carrd. All contributors get the full bundle where possible and if there are leftovers after production, remaining profit will be split among them
thanks for organizing this anthology, I am very excited about it! just a quick question, are all the works supposed to be canon or will au settings also be allowed?
I'm very excited about this too! hehe AUs are allowed. I think it would be nice to explore how their relationship comes together regardless of the setting type-of-thing. I'm always open to discuss this further with the contributors further down in the line though!
hello! if i'm submitting as a duo - what are the writer requirements outside of 3 works? should there be a word limit to the submission? is there anything in particular that you're looking for?
This is a great question, thank you! I will add it to the carrd to offer more clarity.
For writers there's not a really strict criteria. What I will be mainly looking in writers is their dialogue and ability to set a scene and characters. These can be in small samples or a larger single one that conveys all of these.
You may submit short or longer works, there's no rule there HOWEVER keep in mind, if it's a longer work ~15k+ works I might not read /all/ of it and skip scenes or the excerpts that you want me to actually look. Specialky if all your samples are very long.
I hope this helps and let me know if anything doesn't make sense or want me to elaborate! 🥰
hello, where will the book be delivered from?
From Canada! 🍁🇨🇦
The the anthology going to be art only?
Comics only to be more precise!
would you be interested in a formatting mod/helper/volunteer? i’d love to help!
Hi! Thank you a lot for the offer but in this case formatting I'll be doing it myself. Still thank you! 💕
