Engage takes place in an entirely new timeline with a new cast and all and I'd actually recommend it for people who are new to or unfamiliar with the series as a whole!! it's kinda hard to play earlier FE games (earlier being pre-Awakening) without emulating them because uhhhhh. well. Nintendo hates us. but Engage does a REALLY good job of kind of putting all the basic need-to-know lore in a very digestible format without giving away too many spoilers! it's also more on the silly fun side of things (while it does have serious moments it's definitely a lighter entry overall) and it's significantly shorter than 3H due to the fact there's only one route and no NG+ and also like, zero politics. I have yet to see any form of Engage discourse reach even the most basic levels of Edelgard Discourse™️
