Not only he has his own ship but it is absolutely delicious... Bastard orphan son of a whore with daddy and mommy issues who would do anything to get power (because without power he will never be safe), saves powerful man and future sect head Lan Xichen (ML's older brother) , a truly good man who more than anything wants to believe that there is good in people, in their youth and falls heads over heels with him, and during his ruthless social climbing (in which he cold heartedly manipulates everyone around him to achieve his goals - everyone but Xichen, who is the only person in his life who has always treated him with kindness) has a very intimate friendship with Xichen, eventually becoming sworn brothers... Jin Guangyao's social climbing eventually results in him becoming the very head of the system that made his life a living hell, and yet it's never enough, it's a constant struggle for power because power is safety and he is constantly living in fear... Eventually his past wrongdoings start getting revealed and Xichen keeps believing him (even though deep down he knows, he knows...) until he can no longer believe in him, and it ends in tragedy in which he is tricked into (homoerotically) stabbing Jin Guangyao - who in anger asks him to stay and die with him... To which Xichen acquiesces... And knowing that Xichen would stay even then, would die together with him despite knowing him in his ugly, filthy entirety... He pushes him away at that last second... And Xichen leaves the cultivation world and enters seclusion for the rest of his life out of heartbrokenness :)
