It's the first lore focused Genshin fic I've published! I've got a few Guili WIPs sitting around, but this was the first one that took proper shape.
My inspiration is a lot of my own personal headcanons. I write Guizhong and do some GuiLi storylines in RP, but this isn't an adaptation of a specific plot I wrote. Instead, it's more like... I don't mind handwaving Guizhong being alive when I make fanart or more light hearted content for this account, but if I'm writing something I want to explain it properly. So if I'm writing something where she isn't dead, I need it to make sense. I don't want to spoil any of the fic beyond what's in the tags, but another inspiration is a scenario with them having a kid and the implication that has when Guizhong being alive sort of catches up to the canon narrative. I hope this all makes sense!
