I just googled what a "siput" is out of pure curiosity.. so it's like a snail dish or shellfish? 🤔 in my country, we have "whelk" (tsubugai) that's a sea snail. Unfortunately, I don't eat them so I can't be sure if they are tasty or not
Yes, it’s a snail dish. The pronunciation for ‘siput’ in Indonesian is so similar to seafood. The only difference is the sound of /p/ and /f/. That’s why I got confused. Silly me.
I looked up tsubugai, and I’ve seen one before. But, of course, I don’t eat them either. The only snail dish I’ve ever tried is escargot. It was alright, just not really my thing. A lot of people I know really love them, though.
