idk if i can still ask something! but uh can i use artfight attacks in portfolio? i will give credits for the character and add my own designs so you guys can reference
Yes you can have artfight attacks in your Contributors portfolios as long as it represent the skill you want to use in the zine.
What does feature piece mean on the form?
It means piece you are mostly proud of and show off your best abilities. It also shows off the style you want to use for the zine.
How many contributors of each type do you plan on having?
We planning to have around 50 Contributors. 35 page artists, 5 spots artists, 5 writers and 5 merch artist. This numbers were determined by interest check and how much our mods can handle. We will also be accepting pinch hitters who would need to confirm by email if they accepting the position.
From which age can I be a part of the zine?
Hi! You gotta be 16+ to be part of this zine!
So the only character that's not allowed is Haji Towa? If that's the case, please consider changing the rules wording and maybe just list characters you won't accept pieces for. Saying that "problematic" characters aren't allowed is a bit confusing and might discourage people from participating. /nm
Thanks for the feedback! we've updated the wording on the form and on the carrd just in case. We only will be excluding Haiji Towa from the project, all characters from the game, books and anime will be featured!
What do you mean by problematic? It’s Danganronpa, everyone is incredibly morally questionable to fricked up. Literally the only one you can argue as being unproblematic in any way is Makoto, and I think his sister? I haven’t played UDG, but it feels weird to say “as long as they’re not problematic” when everyone has done something problematic in the series.
Danganronpa is a series that explores lots of dark themes, namely murder and mental health. What's important is to treat these topics with respect. Being interested in a character =/= condoning their actions. An art piece that explores what made a blackened character murder someone for example isn't what we would describe as problematic fan content. By "problematic" we mean generally offensive - in this case Haiji Towa, as we feel his character crosses a line and makes people uncomfortable.
Will more niche characters such as the manga and anime exculsive characters be allowed? (See Ryoko, Chisa, Asano, the student conucil)
Yep they will be allowed in the zine!! From every game, novel and anime as long as they aren't problematic, is allowed.
Is Genocide Jack allowed in this zine?
Yes she is allowed in the zine ^^
Will there be a closing point of applications or do they all have to be on the day of opening
Applications will be from June 16- July 15, so you'll have a month to apply. ^^
For our portfolio, how many pieces would have to be furry art?
At least one piece showcasing your furry/feral art. The rest can be things you are really proud of! They have to be recent works so it showcase the style you want to use for the zine.
Are the designs based on a pre-made list or are they our designs? I've never joined a zine before
There will be no pre-made list for this zine. Once accepted you'll need to write a pitch of the idea you want to draw/write and a mod will approve it to you. There's no restriction as long is appropriate to the theme and follow the guidelines
Hi I'd like to join but not sure at all how via requirements (I've never joined a zine before)
Do you need a portfolio?
Also, are we all following a specific list or can they be of our own, thank you
Hi! Thank you for reaching out! You will need a portfolio to join this zine. We will give a guidelines of what you need in the portfolio when application open. At least 10 pieces showing off your skills drawing furry or feral and knowledge on how to fill the background. There would be no list you are free to draw anything you like as long is appropriate to the zine theme.
Hi!! I know its beginner friendly but I did want to ask on how strict on the quality of the portfolio yall will be?
Would love to submit an entry for page artist but I don't really do backgrounds often, and I haven't had the time to draw in the last few months to show a good amount of recent works
Mostly dont wanna ridicule myself with a bad entry if its a bit too strict, thank you ^^"
Thanks for reaching out! Generally we're not planning to be super strict with our picks, but this might change depending on the amount of interest we get and thus the amount of artists we decide to take in by the time applications open. We still encourage you to try, though! Composition and color choices can go a long way even with simple backgrounds! Try to use your most recent work that you're proud of.
will there be guests? I understand if not since it's beginner friendly!!! (I wanna suggest ppl in the interest check)
It would depend on Interest Check! If the numbers are high we would look at the suggestions of artists in the interest check and go from there! Feel free to suggest once the interest check opens!
In terms of artists/merch artists, are y'all going to be focusing on trying to get bigger artists in the zine or will those with smaller followings be able to have a chance of being accepted? I ask because I've seen a lot of zine prioritize their bigger artists and it's little to impossible to get in as a contributor 😅
Hi! When we select page artists and merch artist we don't look at the followers count but at the portfolio instead. Presentation is important as well as the samples provided in the portfolio that's how we decide who will be accepted or not. We look into composition and skill and how the applicant make use of space on canvas as well if the artist is capable of drawing anthros or furries. Don't be afraid to apply! We are a beginner friendly zine and are willing to provide feedbacks
