hopefully this isnt weird or invasive—sorry if it is, but when you say youre “done with mental illness” are you saying youre in a better headspace and dont feel the need to use the label anymore, or something else? just curious, im happy to see youre potentially doing better :)

OK so the "I'm not mentally ill" thing that I do is complicated. Sometimes when I see others suffering more than me I have this awful, selfish and bratty reaction to it. I'll tell myself that all of my feelings are completely made up and that none of my problems are real. And I'll say that everything's fine, with a covert intention of throwing a fit and "proving" to everyone that I am not OK, (because I think I have this deep seated belief that if I am doing well then I'm not deserving of love)
BUT, at the same time, realistically I'm doing well, better than I've ever been as an adult! I still have some serious issues especially with bpd that I need to go to therapy for, and depression that needs to be managed.
