i love how it captures both comforting winter and uneasy loneliness of the midwest - it gets to the core of how despairing inherent loneliness can feel perfectly even when there's seemingly ppl around you who love you. kat's parents not directly being given traits so you don't know if they're loving or distant or bad or just. her parents. is nice. that level of disconnection can be so irrational and her attaching herself to the demon further shows that. the whole idea of allowing yourself to be possessed versus it being forced upon you, so you can have anyone who won't leave you even at great cost is such a crazy good idea. her doing the same awful things the demon does to get it back but it being too late, that it either can't come back or has moved on to another vulnerable target... that she just severed both her only chance at someone who treated her well and put that final nail in her own coffin and she knows it.... just masterful from start to finish.

kiernan shipka is just also a phenomenal actress she does the same things i love in pacinos performances where you can feel the thoughts going through the characters head. you can tell when kat's falling further and when she and the demon are both hovering in consciousness together.

just a really really good movie. i can't watch it too much bc it hits a type of brainweird that blows my brain out but it is the absolute best i watched it like 3-4 times in a row first i saw it also on netflix lol...

im not too good at differentiating genres bc i tend to like a bit of everything & it also depends on the songs im associating w my favs! like i've been getting into 60s-70s music like velvet underground n zappa bc of bobby n pacino stuff in gen n really liking them! gonna try out beatles and the pet shop boys next maybe... but i wanna look into more underground stuff

it's easier to say i like xyz artists stuff in which case ive been really into in general poppy, yuele, carolesdaughter, left boy, the paper chase n ginger root! my brothers a musician so i get exposed to a LOT of stuff so im pretty open! if i can associate it w a hyperfix im all over it.... been really into olivia rodrigo but im mostly just into guts lmao

the closest to a dislike i have is i guess i dont like... super online hyperpop/scenecore music? but its less the sound n more the content bc i also enjoy a lot of grating hyperpop. im not a fan of when ppl just shove samples together over lyrics w no flow which can be an issue w internet music if u know what i mean? but music is an art n this can be really hit or miss on if it doesnt work ultimately. thats the only music i have any strong opinion on tho. idc for edginess for the sake of it either thats common in this music
