hello! i just wanted to ask approximately how many contributors you would be accepting for each category?
Hello! As mentioned in our zine title reveal post, we will be accepting around 30 artists, 5-10 writers, 7 merch artists and 2-3 cosplayers, but this may change depending on how many applications we get, and we can be more flexible since we are sticking with digital formatting. We will update this information on Carrd and the info doc for easier access!

This might be a silly question, but what sort of written pieces are you looking to include in the zine? The theme feels more art-focused than fic-focused, but as a writer I'd be interested in joining! I don't know a lot about Ouji fashion, but the mod team seems like they're here to have such a fun time :D
Hello! If you are looking for what to include in the application, please refer to our info doc! As for the zine pieces, as long as it has ouji/lolita fashion as a theme and follows our guidelines it should be fine. More elaborate examples would be stories about fashion shows, characters trying on outfits, interviews, magazine articles or even poems about the outfits!

Hey! For Merch applications besides some Danganronpa examples if someone were to put some sticker examples would just one sticker count as a piece of the ten or can there be multiple examples of sticker within one piece to better display their range?
Hi! Unless you want to put the stickers together to turn it into a sticker sheet sample, please keep them as separate images!

Hello! I know that among the Lolita fashion community there can be discrepancies about brand representation in coords. I was wondering what the stance is on this zine in regards to the cosplay aspect. Are name brands required or completely made from scratch, or somewhere in between?

Hello! As mentioned in our Carrd and info doc, both handmade and store-bought outfits are allowed in this zine! We will not be expecting big-name brands only, and if anyone isn't confident about what shops are reputable, we can help with vetting since one of the members on our mod team is a veteran lolita.
We also encourage our contributors to consider a wide range of stores and to shop for items within their budget, but we'd like to request that you don't buy replicas for use in our zine. We don't believe in gatekeeping fashion, but we also want to show respect for the original creators of the designs. There are plenty of affordable indie designers to choose from!

hi hi another question!! is it alright if i apply for both merch and spot artist?? if so, do I submit two forms or no?
Hi again! You can apply for as many roles as you want! However, you will only be accepted for a maximum of one position, so if you have a preference for what role you would like to be accepted as, make sure to tell us! In this case since these are two different roles, yes you would have to fill in two forms.

For the samples in the art application, I noticed that there is only a text submission, no files or links. Does this mean I have to make my art into a url ( possinly on google docs ) or do you allow social media links?
Hello! Yes, we would prefer if you send your samples through URLs. Platforms that are usually used to send samples include Google Drive, Google Photos, Imgur, etc. as to not lower the quality, which may happen if you use social media links like Instagram or Twitter, but as long as it can be publicly accessed we will still look through it!

Hello! I was wondering if the mod team had any good resources for finding references for ouji fashion! I just wanted to properly credit anything if need be if I make a sample in advance for the zine.
Thanks for the question! Our discord server actually has a channel for everyone to put in ouji/lolita fashion as inspiration! There are a lot of other good resources available, but as for now a few of the websites we recommend are lolitawardrobeofficial, devilinspiredofficial and 42Lolita!

Yay applications open!! Artist question, do we need to include some ouji fashion itself in the art, I know there's specifics asking for a dangan example in the samples, but wanted if the fashion should be in the samples too or if portfolio is ok for that? thank you!!
Hi! You do need to include ouji/lolita fashion in the zine piece, but for the portfolio we only ask for at least one sample including Danganronpa characters. Having fashion related samples would be nice though!

Hello! Is it okay if I don't have recent DR examples, but MDARC (detective rain code) instead? (I have DR fanarts but they're like... old old before 2020 works,,,)
Hello! Since it's only the first day of applications we do recommend you to spend a bit of time to create new Danganronpa examples for the applications, especially because there is still more than a month to prepare. Like we said in the application form, we want to see at least one DR sample because we want to see how you interpret them. However, if you really do not have the time to prepare a new sample before contributor applications end, we may consider accepting you if we like your work.

Hi! I absolutely love the concept of Ouji fashion and pairing it with the Danganronpa series! I just was curious about why minors are allowed to participate in the zine when the source media is already very dark and rated M for all the games, plus the mods all have to be 18+? I understand wanting to be inclusive but I feel like this creates a very uncomfortable environment for minors who do not want to interact with adults who could very well be 10 years older than them, not to mention it being uncomfortable for the adults as well. I know there's a good portion of the Danganronpa community that are minors, but having been in the fandom for years as an adult, the community tends to keep their spaces very separate. This purely comes out of a place for concern for the zine since I do really want to see it succeed!
Hello! First off, thank you for your support and for voicing your concerns! As for the zine guidelines, we have followed what is typical for Danganronpa fanzines and zines in general. The series has a 16+ rating globally as well. In terms of modding, there is more responsibilities which is why applicants are required to be adults. We hope this clears up any confusion!

I have always loved androgynous fashion and dressing up OCs/existing characters, and as a lot of you may know there used to be a Danganronpa zine of the same theme a year ago. I was really excited for it and I was lucky enough to be a mod intern but it unfortunately got cancelled right before contributor applications. I am still in love with the concept and I didn't want it to end just like that so I am trying to bring it back along with a few ex mods! I hope this answers your question and that the zine will meet everyone's expectations!

I know this zine is planned to be digital, but is there any chance it will have a physical version too?
Hello! Since this zine has been decided to be a free one, we will not be making a physical version or have any physical products this time. This is also my first time head modding, and the only physical zine I have taken part in has not been completed yet, so I don't have the ability nor the confidence to lead a physical zine at the moment.
However, if this zine turned out well and we have enough interest in the future, we may consider a second, physical edition for this project! So make sure to stay on the lookout!
