Is art school worth it? I don't wanna draw bust statues no more

can't say, i didn't go to an art school. though i wish i did. i think at this point in my life it would be a benefit to me because i know what i want to do

stranger · 5mo

What do you even want in your retrospring

questions mostly. but honestly i love getting anonymous messages sometimes. it's just when somebody gives me info about their life and idk what to do about it i feel bad

stranger · 5mo

Idk if this is weird but ur one of the artists that inspired me to pursue a degree in art history and i wanna thank u for that keep up the awesome work its killer :p

that's awesome! I love being an inspiration. you'll quickly surpass me in knowledge and realize i just sound like i know what i'm talking about lol

Hello, it’s me, Linkara. What’s up?

stranger · 6mo

Can you speak about your feelings on drawing fetishes you don’t have for money when you used to do that?

stranger · 6mo

I’m going to copy your style and make gross art you won’t like. How does that make you feel

that potentially, you are putting a lot of effort into being a copyist and not an artist yourself. its your time you are wasting though

stranger · 6mo

what are some animals you havent drawn that you’d like to

Do you think social media inherently restricts creative thinking for those who want to build a following off their work?

i think social media has positive and negative aspects. i mean in general the internet does. we have information and potential community at our fingertips, but also we have so many opportunities for distraction. i'm not immune

stranger · 6mo

realistically how far do you think you can throw a watermelon

stranger · 6mo

are you interested in doing legitimate comix? I know you say you're not focused on anything lore driven, but from your interests it seems like something fairly within your wheelhouse.

the original motivator for me to focus on art as a kid was comics. i met joe kubert when i was 6 or so and i felt like because i told him i wanted to be a comics artist like him i had to dedicate myself to comics. i drew lots of them as a kid but it trailed off towards the end of highschool as my interests changed. i've described my art life as being "conveniently adjacent to comics" but i don't think i have what it takes

What is your ideal breakfast

i've got 3 or 4 faves: 1) fresh kale, fried egg and coffee. 2) plain old bagel and coffee 3) avocado toast and coffee 4) huevos rancheros... and coffee. in wintertime, oatmeal with raisins, bananas or dried fruit is the go to

stranger · 6mo

You inspired me to paint a lot these days, thank you, oh great dynosaur

stranger · 6mo

Would you consider your own drawings as "porn"?

no, unless the drawing is explicitly pornographic. i think im more often sitting around vaguely erotic art than full on pornography. i'm splitting hairs but it's a matter of purpose. generally i am making an art work not a means to an end

stranger · 6mo

I agree to be unapologetic about art! So why censor it?
