I dont know enough about modding to figure out whats doing this, but while I love your torgal tail mod AND it works fine- the problem Im having is its all or nothing. Any tail I want to toggle 'off' option wise looks broken. Sorry to bother you with this, I can see from past questions this mod has haunted you.
sorry i got to this late, but it's for sure not a bother since i actually know what's going on here. the tails all point to one texture, so regardless if you have one tail on 'off' it'll look broken as long as any other is on (which is why i suggest using penumbra collections for it in specific). since it was a very 'quick and dirty' type port i didn't go this route when making it, but i'm pretty sure it's possible to get around this by redirecting the textures of the tail you want to the torgal tail texture in a custom texture slot instead of the main one & removing all the other texture edits. i'm sorry i don't know how to explain it simpler than this!
Hey Edenmorn, I tried downloading your Torgal's Tail mod and saw that it didn't work for any other fur fatterns but the 1. option so I did some snooping around the files and managed to get it working on the other fur pattern options.
I basically added some extra file paths to the materials and it got it to work, see the imgur for pictures. I don't know if this will be any help but decided to post about it anyway

Hello ! I'm sorry, I'm new here. You see, I came across your Torgal's tail for Female Hrothgars, and I looove it ! However, I was wondering : do you plan on someday making it avalaible for male Hrothgars as well ^^ ? Both genders of our furry babies deserve love imo, but I am not modder, sooo, maybe converting the tail to male would be tricky, I dunno, I'm just being curious and probably silly XD. Anyway, loving your work over here, wish you well ^^ !
hihi! no need to apologize! i think the tail can actually be fairly easy ported with either the model copy function or the item converter in textools, but right now i'm still dealing with an issue where the femhroth tail texture isn't displaying right when it's on a different fur pattern despite the textures all pointing to the same (correct) place, so i don't want to port it while it's still in that weirdly broken state ]: admittedly it's slipped my mind recently so i haven't tried to take another crack at fixing it, but if i can get it fixed (or if anyone else wants to - i don't care since its not my own original work ASDBFHNJDSF) i would be happy to include a male hroth port :3 <3
Just wanting to put this out there because the tail wasn't working for me either but setting the priority to just 99999 and redrawing self suddenly made the tail work. Now it just kinda works with no issue. Not sure if this will help anyone but it worked for me. https://i.imgur.com/2qx0bVp.png
I can't seem to make it broken again.
For additional info, Fresh install, no other mods, empty collections, that auto deduplicate setting is still on in the settings.

I've tried each version and it still leads to the broken textures... Do I need to have any type of dependency? There is nothing conflicting and I dont have any mod that replaces the tail.

it shouldn't need anything - it's been tested by people on an empty collection w nothing hardinstalled either - and it's weirder that you're getting a DIFFERENT broken texture too... i have no idea what's causing this! i'm trying to poke at it, but it hasn't popped up for me or a lot of others either so it's super hard to troubleshoot when i can't replicate the issue ;___; the mod is still up for now since it seems to be working for others, but i'm going to do my best to figure out wtf is going on with the handful of you guys who are having issues bc it's ???? baffling me

it might just be you anon ]: the only thing i could think of is making sure you have nothing conflicting with the mod & possibly checking/unchecking (+ applying) some of the backface/transparency boxes in the materials section of penumbra for yourself... i'm not sure how to replicate the issue at all when it's working fine for everyone else who tested it T_T i'm sorry!!
Same person as the last gyazo post here! I downloaded V2 and it seems to be the same issue.
Using Penumbra for your tails -- the previews look great! However when I try it's quite thin and looks like all the textures aren't there. I've linked a preview image (no mod conflicts at all).

do you think NPC skintone mods are still possible with the new DT textures?
oh yeah i don't think that's a problem at all the whole idea of the skintone being "multiplied" onto the skin texture is still how it works as far as i've seen. youd just have to wait for penumbra to come back up so it doesn't affect others (which i think will be soon, since they're in testing rn) for simplicitys sake or make npc skin textures unique thru their gear on textools
do the skin textures for a lot of the male models in dawntrail look low res to u or am i imagining it ? i need a second opinion on this bc i feel like im going crazy LOL
Hi!! I tried using your Thancred mod for Dawntrail and I was wondering a couple of things.
Firstly, I believe some of his bones may be broken his mouth doesn't open and only the chin moves Secondly, Do you think it will be possible to preserve his 6.0 appearance while also giving him the shiny, upgraded 7.0 skin texture? and lastly, do you think it would be possible to make customizable versions in the future with no beard, etc?huh, odd.... it was working fine for me, but maaaybe i fucked up and packed the wrong version or something oTL i'll check both faces for animation issues on a starter character somewhere so i don't have to worry about queues after i get home and try to fix it >:? sorry about that!
possibly! the uvs are very close with only a few differences, but it might need to be squashed a little bit in certain areas to get it to work completely.
yeah. the beard is a really easy thing to remove either through metadata editing, texture editing, or the model itself, so it's completely possible. to be honest i forgot post-hvw thancred doesn't have his stubble since i'm so used to seeing it ¯_(ツ)_/¯ i'd be willing to do so in the future - ultimately i want to recreate customizable thancred in 7.0, but it'll be something i do inbetween msq downtime/when im not focused on other things
hi! is there a way to remove the custom eye textures from customizable thancred? i (unfortunately) am not fond of the matte eye look, but i'm really attached to him still having his scruff........ i tried just removing the redirections from the iris mtrl file, as well as the diffuse/spec/normal, but that did not work..... any help you have would be appreciated!
it's possible to do this but not in a way that doesn't involve some model work, sadly! simply removing the redirections won't work and replacing it with the standard iris material also won't work - his eyes are uv mapped to the two separate eye textures and cleared of their vertex color, meaning they won't be mapped right nor will they "dye" with the eye color.
the first way to do this that i can think of is lifting the eyes from the original head models & transferring them to the modified head models + reverting the eye material back to it's default, so the texture isn't doubled anymore and the eyes are properly mapped. you'll also probably have to do some material re-addition within the mod so that everything is pointing the right way... i'm not sure how familiar you are with those processes and i don't have the energy to explain in-depth rn, i'm sorry ;__; but hopefully at least that gives you a pointer to the idea of what you would have to do
the original actual 2.0 ver was supposed to include two versions of the mod - one with and without the custom eyes for this exact reason (which is why the one out rn is just named 1.5, it's sort of a 'lite' edition), but trying to get those both out really kicked my ass (hence the 2 years LMFAO) i may do the split a little later on when i'm not so focused on work. sorry if this isn't much help u_u
Hi there! There seems to be an issue on your latest GNB coat/Metian Coat mashup-- the ends of the sleeves terminate in a strange way. I expected it to end with the normal cuff you see on the bodyguard's jacket, but instead they just sort of end? I can't send a photo here but I was on a male viera, so maybe that will help you replicate the problem?
Ok i know you said you dont wanna play ffxv even with ray chase using the same voice for noctis as for nier :) but if you enjoy games that make you cry so hard you start screaming till your neck is raw, it might be the game for you after all :D theres sillies and road trips with the boys pspsps
