I really wanna get into editing in photoshop, do you have any tips and tricks for a newbie like me? Orrr, how do you learn to use photoshop for the first time? :0
Hello. Thank you so much for asking me questions! I would love to make a little guide just in case you want to, please refer to the text down below:
Honestly, experimenting is the most major way I could take as a visual designer myself. If you know the base of the design itself = you could do anything. It’s fundamental to know how the tools work before trying to commercialize anything. So, the first tip that I would tell people to do are:
Be familiar with the tools. This is mandatory in order to process to the next step, I spent almost eight years in designing stuff and five years in corporate design industry, and I still am currently learning new stuff from Photoshop everyday since it evolves, it keeps updating new feature each patch. So, the base are enough. Like how to copy things, importing, shortcuts. That would do just fine.
I don’t know about you but I don’t commercialize things at the very first place when I’m still learning. I would take a slow pace, no need to rush at all, in order to make my designs much more better. I personally learn by myself and Youtube tutorials as a starter. There are a lot of Playlist out there but since I do not have the attention span to do that, I would probably search for a quick crash course. A quick skim about the tools that you’re going to be using. On point and crystal clear.
Befriending designers! Say, you want to do specific things in Photoshop, but you can’t do it because no tutorials on that even the basic ones on Youtube. I struggled a lot with this at the first place but I decided to befriend people with the same train of thoughts, with the same capability as me. Environments are important as a graphic designer and I’m thankful that I’m surrounded by that kind of ecosystem. Hence, if there’s something that you cannot find or you don’t understand, your friend will be someone that you would ask. Simple!
