Star Trek was always a part of my life; my parents often put on either The Next Generation or Voyager while doing other things, and took me to watch Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond. At some point I decided, pretty much at random, to sit down and watch a full episode with them. I saw the TNG episodes "Contagion" and "Remember Me" and absolutely loved them, and from that point forward I was hooked. I loved how the characters solved their problems with logic, science, and teamwork rather than brute force. I don't know exactly when that was, but probably about 8 years ago. Soon, Star Trek came back to TV with Discovery, and since we finally bought a CBS All Access (now Paramount+) subscription to watch it, I've gotten into Star Trek all over again every time one of the shows airs. (Aside from Picard Season 2, which I actually delayed watching for the longest time due to bad reviews.) And because there are four(!) current Star Trek series, that ends up being most of the year.
