HELLO heartsteel kayn question for u: do u interpret him/his characterization as more of "he's an asshole bc he thinks it's funny" or "he's an asshole as a defense mechanism"

a little bit of both. he’s a good guy! but his asshole-ness is mostly to keep people out (he has so many issues) and also it’s funny and people might hate him for it so they’ll stay away and now we’re back at trust issues LOLLLL i love him (this is my interpretation of him)
