Yeah, like Connie warming up to Greg to that point sounds very interesting. Imagine they grow even closer when Steven is away in space. Greg gets really lonely. Misses Rose everyday. This sweet girl shows up in his life and he can't help but enjoy her company. She visits him every day and he feels the warmth of her hugs. He grows a longing each minute she's away, and it grows worse and worse as time goes on. And Connie- well, she finds herself really enjoying her time with Mr. Universe and really enjoys his talks and friendliness. She grows attached. Curious. Wants to grow closer with him, but feels bad because her heart belongs to Steven. But, Steven has been gone for so long (in space, wherever, idk it works for the au); she grows tired, hungry, desperate for touch. She hugs Mr. Universe after every conversation with a wave and a "See you tomorrow, Mr. Universe!" She feels her heart tugging in both directions. And her natural sexual curiosity blooming. She had never gotten to explore this with Steven, at least in full extent. Perhaps, she meets with Greg and finds herself wanting to kiss him. She knows its wrong. She knows it's weird. And she knows Steven can never find out (as well as her parents). She feels bad, guilty. But, Greg reminds her so much of Steven at the same time.
