honestly, moreso than the work itself these days, i'm drawn to an artist's work ethic and how much it is apparent theyre marching to the beat of their own extremely unhinged drum & digging past the surface level of the art aesthetics around them and right into their own skin. for which reason i like artists like nekojiru in theory even though i find all the kawaii gore to be in such bad taste LOL. i genuinely like her autobiographical work though
