please share your thoughts on futari wa..
what do you think of pollun being the key to save everything? the first group of bosses or second? thoughts on kiriya? thoughts on the hope kingdom characters (queen, elder, guardian)? rank the 3 fairies.

Poruns role in the show was foreshadowed the moment his full name and title were revealed, so im fine with him saving the day in the end and i thought it was a nice moment for him
The first group of generals is very lacking, they are either boring and/or underdeveloped (pisard, slightly less so irukubo and poisony) or one note gags (gekidrago)

i think they were all serviceable but only kiriya really stood out as a character.
The second group of generals were all very likeable and sympathetic given their motivations, I actually found myself hoping theyd find a way to get their freedom without needing to go full evil but it didnt wind up mattering anyways as they just get absorbed in the end.
Belzei is my favorite villain in the show (with Regine being slightly behind, her gag is easily the funniest though)

onto kiriya, i think he had some cool deep moments and overall is a good kid, but he also didnt get enough exploration before sacrificing himself, which reads as a tragic ending as he was just starting to become a real person, i think bringing him back at the end just to make him leave again wasnt really earned and i think it cheapens the impact of his "death"

on topic of boys, fujimura is a fine love interest, hes kind of boring by himself but at least hes a nice kid unlike some of the later boys, he is endearingly simple as a character which kind of makes nagisas head over heels for him kind of weird as hes just got nothing going for him besides being generic attractive nice boy, but school age crushes rarely get any deeper than that surface level attraction anyways so its fine
kiriya as a potential love interest isnt particularly interesting to me, but i do like the ambiguous nature of he and honokas relationship, neither of them really know what the other is to them and while the show does often feature honokas moments remembering him during fujimura focused plots it never comes off as explicitly romantic to me

the garden of light characters are all also fine, the only one that really gets any real personality development in the show is wisdom and hes a funny little dude, queen and elder (the latter playing a duo with wisdom) have gotten a bit deeper in the first few episodes of max heart and i hope that trend continues

I like all 3 of the fairies, I really like Mipple.. when shes allowed to do anything.. it seems like the writers often forget shes even around as most of the screentime and focus goes to nagisa and therefore mepple
Earlier in the show I wouldve said Mipple > Mepple > Porun but now its probably Mepple > Porun > Mipple, i really want her to get to be a character again but so far in max heart shes still only had a few lines and im not too hopeful especially now with Hikari also needing screentime too

This complaint also kind of extends to Honoka (who is my favorite character), I (wrongly) assumed since the show focused on the girls as a duo that the writing would treat them as such, but it is very clear Nagisa is the main character and it sometimes gets to the point that Honoka is just treated as an accessory, which i think goes against the shows themes and also the in universe fact that the girls are equals. This probably wont be remedied in max heart either as once again we have to now split the screen with Hikari.

The first set of generals being underdeveloped and the focus not being "fairly" split among the main characters are pretty much the only real complaints i have though, I have a bit more I could talk about but overall its just a good show from start to finish!
