WAIT YOU STARTED ZENKAIGER WHAT anyeays what are your favorite songs this September
YEAH..... when we met with ragna in early september i mentioned stacy at some point and he went on and on about him and zenkaiger in general and well. i'm not immune to propaganda 👍
AS FOR THE SONGS......
1) remote control by beastie boys. their music is so fun to listen to and it has such. idk rich texture because of all the different samples used!
2) elevator man by oingo boingo. this one is funny because when me and my friend went to the art market there was a lecture/talk/whatever by one of the artists, i decided to check her socials afterwards and apparently she made an animation with her ocs to this song? aaaaand after that it got stuck in my head lol. it has so much background noises of various objects being hit, scratches my brain the same way depeche mode's black celebration and some great reward does
3) PEACESIGN!!!!!!!!! by black dresses. yes the title is originally rendered like that. i like their music a lot but haven't really heard much of their stuff, you know? while it is the sort of industrial/metal inspired electronic music i enjoy, it has this "can we make something beautiful with no hope?" lyrics which is the thing that stuck with me about this song. i really like the sentiment..... can we really?... and it's a banger of course
whichi superpower ud like to have and why
H what other britpop bands do/did you like
actually i don't think i like any that i haven't mentioned already? basic mostly-big-four bitch indeed BUT not going to lie i don't feel like the era produced that much good bands as some ought to make and partially i'm here for the drama and the Narrative that is contained within like 10 people or so. the only band from that time i want to fill the gaps in is maybe the verve? anyway i always thought i could theoretically be a supergrass enjoyer but they never really clicked with me on errr more personal level i think. also I KNOW IT'S A STRETCH but many people consider madchester to be sort of proto britpop and i loooove the stone roses' self-titled
໒꒰´ ˘ ` ꒱ა what are some of your favourite songs right now?
hmmm, probably the drowners and the asphalt world, both by suede :)
first is a certified all time classic and probably my favorite single of theirs.. i've been also listening to metal mickey from the same bunch of their pre-debut singles a lot, i've always overlooked it for some reason but now it has such a grip on me, can't get the "she sells hearts, she sells meat" line out of my head x)
and second one is much less digestible song sjdofjdsks it's 9 minutes long epic about some sketchy & tragic love triangle but honestly every minute of it is so worth the length, it has such a epic and cinematic feel, you don't even notice the length behind it
(btw i WISH my answer was more varied but alas i've been listening to the same band almost exclusively for the last two weeks for unexpectedly intense brainrot reasons, i'm sorry)
Гуд мооонинг Катя хэв э гуд дэй
Do you like musicals?
i guess no but more out of lack of knowlenge on them rather than genuine dislike for the genre? i just haven't seen enough musicals tbh, especially stage ones (i have attempted to watch heathers at some point but that's all lol). i think they can be cool and entertaining but i can't see myself becoming a fan one day
к слову айм сорри что мне не так зашла пила как тебе </3 i like the concept and i see what they were going for but execution just doesn't really click with me.. also i found adam surprisingly annoying which is a thing you have to deserve from me, known annoying characters enjoyer.. solid 3/5 for me overall
ANYWAY BACK TO YOUR QUESTION if we really stretch the term recently i think it's crash (1996) because i keep thinking about it from time to time for over a month now.. i mean yes it's a movie about people who are horny for a possibility of being hit by a car but it's really interesting exploration of relationship between man and technology, machinery etc.. and like, chasing pleasure in the most extreme ways (notable thing about is that while i think half of it's screentime is sex scenes all of them are so.. mechanical and devoid of feelings, just really purposely unsexy for the lack of a better word which i'm sure was the point. also i've heard david cronenberg was originally a med student before becoming a director and after that i was just. well. it all comes together actually. you can guess) and yet never end up being satisfied and how it all linked to trauma and your surroundings... and it's notably one cronenberg's less grotesque films visuals-wise (like no gore or anything remotely graphic in that sence) but it's still a continuation of body horror in way, like, a movie very concerned with the body I'd say....... interesting stuff! sorry for endless ramblings i should probably do a rewatch to give more comprehensive thoughts on it lol
