Don’t worry to much! Write something you really love and don’t overthink it. There will be more time to get your style down, to experiment, and there will be other stories to tell, so don’t try to pack it all into the first one.

I would personally advise against starting with something on the longer side just because it can be a little overwhelming. A oneshot is probably easier to handle for your first time.

Writing fic is wonderful because you get to play with the characters you love and make up your own world for them. Sharing it and receiving feedback can be quite daunting but also really fun.

Mostly, my advice is to write for yourself — what is it that you’d like to read? Being that to life! The rest is confetti.
