hmm, to be honest, i like exploring various dynamics, and yes toxic/abuse included. i understand that sometimes to explore this, it's possible to have the characters become ooc. i don't mind because people have different takes of what a character is like, sometimes it's purely self-indulging, and i think it's okay! there are several aspects of ooc-ness that i don't feel comfortable with, of course, and i am aware that what i write often doesn't sit right with a lot of people too. but as long as it's used on fanworks and not people actually believe that it's canon and fight people about it, i'm 100% fine with it. go wild with your hcs, be as self-indulging as you want.
