It recently was revealed that some of the greatest programmers on the planet do not use a tiling WM. Do you have a response to that?

Well, in my opinion, you should work with whatever you're comfortable. Tiling WMs aren't for everyone, but they make sense in some cases, like laptops, where you want to avoid using the trackpad all the time. For desktop computers, having floating windows makes more sense.
