Hello <3 "A link to your portfolio that contains at least five completed pieces, additional samples of merch preferred [...]" - Do the additional samples of merch mean on top of the 5 completed pieces (meaning, are the five pieces illustrative work only and you can add extra merch) or are they included in the five pieces count (meaning, it could be a portfolio exclusively only merch)? Also, the first three samples cannot be repeated in the portfolio, right? Thank you for your time! What a lovely idea <3
Hello! By additional samples of merch, we mean that your portfolio containing merch pieces in the minimum number of portfolio works is preferred, but not required. You can submit a portfolio that is five illustrative works, that's fine! We would prefer if your portfolio did not contain your samples as part of the minimum 5 works, as it's a way for us to see what other types of works you can do if we need to decide further on your application.

do you know how many merch artists you're planning to accept?

If we have no previous examples of finished merch or merch designs does that mean we shouldn't apply? I'd love to apply but my examples don't match the specifics of being merch designs
Hello! Thank you for your question! We have talked about this as a mod team and have adjusted our physical merch application to now accept mockups of merch designs as samples with at least one sample being a manufactured piece being highly recommended. As this is a merch project, we want to make sure that our contributors are familiar with the requirements and specifics that come with making merch, which is why we are requiring merch related samples. Your portfolio can contain non-merch samples however.
