halloe.. what is ur fav part abt designing/make characters
OOBH FUN QUESTION... its definitely thinking about how to incorporate symbolism + their personalities into their designs! my fave charas rn are my dnd charas so i'll ramble abt em for a bit LOL for example, bud is someone who's very guarded about themself which is reflected with their very covered up clothes, but they care deeply about their loved ones so they have several things on them that serve as reminders of people they love (paper rose on their hat, red scarf, yellow ribbon in their hair, bunny ears sewn into their hood) and despite their mysterious looking outfit, they dont come off as intimidating at all bc of their silhouette... c does her best to put on a cool professional persona evidenced by her work clothes, but her chronic tiredness tends to interfere w that image represented by her messy hair and falling off trenchcoat..... dysme has a lot to do with duality/equality/balance, so her casual and magical girl designs are balanced on when split vertically down the middle/are symmetrical...... basically i love designing characters in a way you can really see their personality shining through... i overthink "why/how would they wear this?" all the time lol its honestly really fun to do! personally, i find approaching character design that way a fun way to build your character's personality in the process :] im just a sucker for symbolism and when things Mean Things 😭😭
