no no that jing/heng ask wasn't negative thing it's just genuinely me being baffled that I'm actually getting not just stuff but So Much Stuff. Like coming home fully expecting just some small thing in your kitchen but getting whole ass feast and being low key overwhelmed this is what i meant with /neg. Sorry I should have worded it better
also dan heng who says "as you wish" and Jing Yuan who doesn't want to be the bad guy which is clocked by everyone is so– what if we wanted each other's presence so much it bleeded in our duties. What if centuries of habits and responsibilities are maybe not so strong when you near. what if this and our traumatic past makes our relationship so complicated and ill-defined even for ourselves. God I wish I was normal about jing/heng
aaaah thanks for clarifying! i did feel the ask seemed to be from someone who loves jh so like that was my first impression! too much food, can't eat it all in one go, can't let it sit in the fridge, i get you, it's like we have to be locked in every patch update lol. i am in awe of this plot structure, this intertwining of their fate on purpose, this emphasis on their choice to protect each other under no compulsion but a lingering familiarity from the past? it is AWFUL to even think of jing yuan having brought these duties upon himself in the first place, only for dan feng to keep ruining them while the former pined away for the latter's presence without any introspection whatsoever? any kind of, maybe "i should give my loving a rest, i get nothing back," but like a fairy tale, his love returns? in the form of his reincarnation trying to stitch up the holes his own past left? im terrified of everything that is yet to come for them after these events
