do you like pokemon. i dont know if you do but I DO so listen to me explain my pokemon ideal team for law. i have put way too much time and effort into thinking about this so here's his full team of six: glaile, empoleon, luxray, swoobat, umbreon, and dusknoir... glaile is here because his team desperately needed an ice type considering in canon his whole crew is themed around arctic life but there were so many possible ice type options i was overwhelmed and didnt know what to pick at first but bc i wanted to ensure there would be as much type coverage as possible i decided to not use a dual ice water type so i could give him empoleon instead. plus glaile reminds me of his hat a lot with the black and white color scheme. also it's cute to imagine little law with a snorun that later evolves into a big and scary glaile. anyways onto empoleon. to me it is such a good choice bc not only does it fit the polar theming in being a penguin but it is also a steel type which goes with him seemingly liking metal stuff??? (him having a submarine and having those cool gear tattoos... i see you and your steampunk obsession law) plus i think having a strong water type would be very useful in the one piece world especially as a devil fruit user because you can ride on its back while it swims or it can save you from drowning ^_^ moving on, luxray i cannot lie is here just for the ~vibes~ if you will but!! it also canonically lives in cold climates as well and i just think law with a luxray is really cool... i like the idea of him meeting a shinx shortly after minion island that grows alongside him :,) or alternatively if the luxray was a gift from cora or something... luxray is so fluffy and warm i like to think about law snuggling it to stay warm in the cold at night. plus i just think it fits his vibes very well. i was torn between giving him either a crobat or a swoobat but ultimately settled on swoobat because of it's heart theme and i think law would definitely want to honor cora in some way on his pokemon team. it's also a psychic type which is so fucking cool... additionally swoobat also learns a lot of cool moves that let you fuck with your enemy like trick room and substitute which really fits law in my opinion. umbreon is not only really cool bc it fits his color scheme but it also learns healing moves (MOONLIGHT!!!) and it doesn't look like it would but it does!!! kind of like how law doesn't look like he would be a doctor but IS. dusknoir is there becuase law is the surgeon of death and dusknoir is basically like the pokemon grim reaper and again like swoobat it can learn a bunch of moves that let you fuck with your opponent like trick. overall his team is very defensive because law likes to set things up in advance rather than do direct head on confrontation you get what i mean. he would do some crazy setup while on the defensive then suddenly sweep your team when you're least expecting it. there's a lot of honorable mentions too like bearctic is a polar bear like bepo, spheal is adorable and reminds me of onigiri because it's round plus it fits the arctic animal theme, lanturn reminds me of the polar tang, absol always has reminded me of law's vibes, chien pao is literally a snow leopard (i avoided giving him any legendaries though) stay tuned to when i eventually think of corazon's pokemon team too (will probably take a while considering how long it took me to be satisfied with laws...)
