short answer: i didnt choose the zora life the zora life chose me /j

the long answer: AW MAN HOW DO I PUT THIS INTO WORDS. for starters, ee was something i always felt a 'familiar' vibe from, like id experienced it or been there before but had no idea who that feeling was attributed to. i thought it was sylvie at first since i related to him quickly in the museum arc but it turned out being a no. when i got to the redwood arc, however, zora hit me EXTREMELY hard from the moment i saw her and i was like. wow. however i couldnt tell if it was just a favorite character thing or a 'thats me!' way and held it off. however, the more i consumed and got to winner take all is when they became stronger, to the point where i could physically feel them in my chest which was rare, and the events in the arc i felt like had happened To me. It felt less like watching Her on sceeen and more staring back at myself. and the more i indulged + reconsumed and looked at fan content, the stronger the feelings became. and it's been that way consistently ever since, never having faded or felt like a gun-jump, which makes me certain i was just meant to be.
