YES. So, Cyrus runs something of a cult actually. It's closer to those free-love cults of the 60's, and Cyrus isn't actually doing anything.. super nefarious. I'll admit I've been tentative on how far I wanted to push the envelope with things, given how those types of cults often strayed into abusive territories that I'm not interested in taking my characters.

Consider them kind of.. a group of friends who have sex together. Like a lot of sex. Are spiritually married to one another. And get together on weekends to hold summoning circles where they immolate one of their willing members, an unwilling bystander, or an entire building. Just little Desolation things! Again, I'm not entirely sure how much I wanted to push the envelope with them? I'm not sure how far into the Destructive Cult demographic they would fall and if they would commit worse acts, though the likelihood of it is pretty high.

Moss is NOT directly involved, because he is NOT of the Desolation, but he does often act as a bystander and watch because they're all weird little freaks.

You’d love to end up beneath his altar, slick tentacles trailing across your skin. You’re already naked. You have no idea where your clothes went, long lost to the mass of tentacles that writhe across your flesh, around your limbs.

“You’re such a pretty lil’ thing,” he’d whisper. The humanoid upper half of his body is pressed against you, so warm compared to his other limbs that it overstimulates you. You’d try to speak, pitifully, breathlessly.. Your words are caught before they can even leave your mouth. Your jaw pops from the force of the writhing tentacle slipping down your throat. It’s suffocating. You can barely breathe. It’s dripping something down your throat, forcing you to swallow whatever it is.
“That’s better. I like it when you’re quiet, doll.” His hands would slip down to your stomach. “How about we fill you up, now, nice and good? Would’ja like that?”

You can barely whimper, but you could nod your consent.
“That’s a good darlin’. You’ll love it..”

So, Damien is an Outer God of sorts? He’s incredibly young and markedly less powerful than most others, and might be closer to a Great Old One, but in essence, he’s an eldritch horror!!

While he comes from another dimension, he found earths cultures and atmosphere to be so engaging that he’s ended up staying a while. An interest in Christianity and the unshakable reach it has on such a large portion of the population was a particular thing he found interesting, and was what led to him becoming a priest.

At present, he lives beneath the church he practices at in order to learn all he can, even if his presence is.. starting to drive parishioners a little mad.

The thing with his legs is that his normal form is largely covered in tentacles, and he finds it difficult to keep his entire body shifted into one form for long. If his concentration slips, his legs are the first to start to lose their grip on humanity.

tldr: lovecraftian horror thinks Christianity is fucked up and cool so he’s a priest now.
