Hello, i was wondering what is your twitch?
There's going to be a lot of cleanup taking place this year, but here you go, stranger: https://www.twitch.tv/preemium
Did you know out of all the books I own and have read you’re still my favorite author? ☀️
Does haitham sleep naked
"the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically" i agree about the former but the latter not outwardly haitham. i think both emotional and cognitive empathy needs to go hand in hand for someone to have high emotional intelligence. idk tho this is just my overall perception all my life before knowing haitham enjoyer.
I think, to some degree, Haitham does possess emotional empathy, but cognitive empathy is what he has the most of, and it's what he trusts the most. He and Kaveh are like two sides of the same coin, from my perspective. There is lack, in certain areas, for one of them, in which the other makes up for - and vice versa.
In my own opinion, there has to be some degree of one, in order to understand that the other more aligns with you. In Haitham's case, possessing a certain level of emotional empathy to understand that cognitive empathy is what he possesses. You're very much correct, they do go hand-in-hand, and they must, in order for a person to have high emotional intelligence and understand that one side of the spectrum is more attuned to them.
This is a very solid observation, and it makes me wonder how much of the first he has, in order to realise that he is of the second. Because emotional empathy generally is said to have its foundation in the individual with certain emotions and situations.
Did it start to make sense to him when his parents passed? When his grandmother passed? Or did it come late, when he had his falling out with Kaveh? Which moment do you think it made sense, to him?
do you know of that hkvh thread fic where kavehs all like no haitham i cant wear week old jewelry ppl will think i’m single so they go buy him a new pair of earrings and have fun in an alley? i cant find it and it’s making me crazy
Well on regards on the empathy thingy, what do u think abt hthm and aromanticism? Or any romantic inclinations of ur opinion tbh. Bcs i think hthm is on that spectrum and damn the possibilities to explore their relationship dynamic is just👌👌
As someone who identifies on the aromantic spectrum, I think about AlHaitham being aromantic a LOT. The most popular thought is Haitham being asexual and, while I do agree that it's an amazing thought - and have spent time turning it over in my own head, myself - the aromantic spectrum is much more personal to me.
And it makes sense.
It's very possible that someone so deeply rooted in knowledge, and the pursuit of it, just doesn't feel the things that those around him may feel. Perhaps that could contribute to Kaveh's thought that he has no sense of romanticism, is a brute, etc. It could very well be one of his best kept secrets.
Can you imagine how Kaveh would react when he found out? Everything would make sense, right? He may also feel incredibly guilty for saying the things he has, about Haitham; but the possibilities are endless and, personally, I would LOVE to further explore this.
Ppl need to learn the different between emotional empathy and cognitive empathy. Alhaitham may not have a lot of emotional empathy and might see words of comfort as dishonest in some cases, he does have a lot of cognitive empathy as seen w Kaveh and even Shani from the desert
AlHaitham has incredible empathic accuracy and I'm very glad that someone has brought this up, and has specified the need to differentiate Kaveh's type of emotional intelligence from Haitham's.
This is the exact reason why some people are obsessed with saying that Haitham has low emotional intelligence, because they don't understand the type that he has and can't relate to it. Not everyone FEELS the emotions of others, but this doesn't mean that he doesn't understand.
Please come back and let us continue this discussion!
R u fat?
OH YES SORRY FORGOT TO ADD BUT DO YOU PERHAPS HAVE THE LINK FOR THE HOME POST? 😭😭
the dichotomy of how well kaveh and nilou's resistance to oppression of the arts goes for them because nilou engages in art tied to a community while kaveh is trapped in the isolation of being a genius both by the world and by himself is very interesting. I request hoyoverse make them become friends please
Hi Moon!! I saw Sunny locked and is stepping away for a bit, is he okay? I figured you’d know more about the situation, and wanted to be sure that he isn’t going away for good!
I won't go into specifics, to respect both his privacy and him, as a person; but I can answer that he won't be going away for good, anon. You have nothing to worry about. Like all of us do, at times, he is going through a moment where he needs patience and a touch of extra care. ♡ I'm sure he will be appreciative of your concern, and I'll make sure to share this with him.
Hi moon! This might be something else to ask, but when Kaveh's character story got leaked, I remember a post that it was Alhaitham's home, and op pointed it out, that instead of house where it was the sq where we can enter, it was Alhaitham's home. So in a way op connected it that the house wasn't just a house, but a home inside it, connecting everything inside it is home
There was someone who mentioned that kaveh got too attached to the palace work and that's why he ended up losing everything. Because in design you are not supposed to get attached to your work coz that stunts you for trying to improve
I personally don't agree with that. Kaveh saw architecture as an artform and he has mentioned that despite that, he makes absolutely sure that its feasible and safe, that there were times that he had to compromise by removing a design aspect to fit the needs. He had done a lot of other works for sumeru like the lighthouses and the elevators too i think.
I believe he was just tired and a little jaded that 'Art is unnecessary' became the mainstream because the corrupted sages deemed it so. When Dori offered him to build the palace, he had probed her there really were no limitations and knew it was a chance of a lifetime, something to debunk challenge that 'Art is unnecessary'
So when the withering happened, I believe it put Kaveh in a hard spot because if he gives up on the project, thats him giving up on his belief, turning back on it. He could have given up on it, but since art was deemed as a joke as the majority, who knew when he would get an opportunity to challenge it again?
TLDR, I dont think Kaveh got attached to the palace, at least not as much what that anon thought before. I think he was willing to risk it all because that was his once chance to prove something, that art isn't just pretty presentations to a nation that mostly viewed it as a joke.
This was an absolutely incredible read, and I agree. I don't think that Kaveh gets entirely too attached to his work because, as you stated, it stunts your growth as a designer or architect and he is someone who, despite being a man of aesthetics, prioritises practicality and safety in his work.
I think that he was someone wholeheartedly affected by the Sages denouncing of the arts and, in thinking this, it gives me the idea that his magnum opus isn't something that he brings up to say "Hey, this is mine! I'm the famous architect that built this! This is my life's works, praise it!" but more of him declaring that the Palace is his rebellion against the corrupted Sages; this is his stance against them, and this is his declaration that art is necessary.
And giving up on art can be devastating.
I'll always admire characters like Kaveh and Nilou, who face the oppression of the arts head on, in their own ways. Art is no joke, and they are willing to do anything, to make that known.
You bring up incredible points, anon, and I'm happy to be the one that you start this discussion with.
Listen, we know no men in genshin will ever have facial hair
But I absolutely cannot help but imagine AlHaitham with stubble, or some kind if facial hair. He's probably one of the few who would look so good with facial hair. By the time Nahida let's him retire he'll probably have a beard
AlHaitham with 5 o'clock shadow? Hell yeah, I dig it.
It's kind of disappointing that HYV won't give us a playable adult male with facial hair, because there are a couple that would look absolutely incredible.
What if, when he's particularly stressed about something, he foregoes shaving and actually does grow a beard? Maaaaaannnnn.
Hate anon again here. And yeah i feel you bcs im also not the conventional romantic person and im not comfortable with sweet acts but i don't go around pointing fingers that ppl who act sweet are 'manipulative to get to other's good side' or anything. Anw to sum it up, kaveh is right. Hthm got a big personality and most people just wouldn't get it.
It's good to meet someone else like me, in that regard.
Anyways, Kaveh is right, and we know he's right. Haitham's personality is big, and it isn't for everyone. But, it IS for the people who understand. Most people won't, and that's okay, but their efforts to mischaracterise him and tell us that he's something that he's not won't work, and they won't win.
