hi would you be open to writing a socmed?
Everytime I read your rs answers I'm like "ah so riyal" you get me sometimes
I don’t think you’d be able to characterize them so well if you didn’t care about them beyond shipping
just wanted to say that you are so talented, honestly i will read anything written by you! you are so good with words and with depicting small details of emotions! and the way you are not too detailed with it, but, like making accents here and there, which is just enough to empathize with characters
hope you have a great day and a bright future!
thank you so much!! i think my writing style has definitely changed a lot in terms of detail, for a while it was always my instinct to overdo it with prose and narration but i learned that showing and not telling is really useful and sometimes less is more you know...thank you for the well wishes i am sending you love ❤️
im trying to write smut and im struggling so hard how do u do it 😭😭
i don't think i'm qualified to answer this question HAFAHJFGJ but when i do write smut i think the main thing i try to focus on isn't the actual sexual mechanics of the scene but rather the mindset of the characters in the scene. like what is their relationship to each other, is this their first time, are they nervous/excited etc. i consider how they interact with each other, and make sure that that dynamic translates over to the bedroom. i think intention is really important (unless it's simply a one off pwp scene) like what is the point of this smut in the larger scope of the fic, is it even needed, and if it is what will this tell us about the characters and how will them interacting in this intimate way affect their relationship from then on. so when you consider all of this pretentious stuff i think the smut will come easier...but in general unless you're a very horny person i feel like smut will always be hard to write 😭 it's a lot of body parts to keep track of and a lot of steps to go through, but if you prioritize character over everything else you will know intuitively how these characters would fuck. for lack of a classier term. sorry if this doesn't help i'm still trying to figure out the secret ingredient to good smut myself but at the end of the day it's all down to preference and what you like! just go with the flow and don't take it too seriously~~~
it always appears in my tl you kind of flirting with sunny it's fun
i mean this is the most respectful and genuinely curious way but do you care about dream beyond fanfic?
i find it hard to believe you’re asking this in good faith but i’ll answer you in good faith anyway 😭 i don’t know exactly what prompted this, but if i had to guess it’s because of how vocal i am on this account about numerous things. before i get into that, it’s a bit dumbfounding to me that anyone could even begin to entertain the idea that i don’t care about dream outside of fic because i put a lot of myself and my love and care into my fics, and my care is the whole entire reason that i write in the first place. if i didn’t care even the slightest bit, i would not be here at all! i would never dedicate hours of my time and buckets of my energy to something that didn’t matter to me. if i didn’t care about them outside of fic, the fic in question would not even exist in the first place because i don’t write about things i don’t care about.
if this is one of those “if she isn’t tweeting about it she doesn’t care about it” things, i just want to remind everyone that i have a life and thoughts outside of twitter, and this account is genuinely 0.1% of that. i’m busy! and even then, ever since i created this account, i have never been on here constantly. i have a personal life and things that directly affect me to worry about that come before everything else, i’m currently completing a degree, i have not been on this account much Especially lately because i’ve been focusing on other things and distancing myself from twitter and i don’t have time or even a real desire to constantly vocalize how i feel about nct dream or otherwise publicly. i’ve never been the fan who constantly weighs in on every little thing or tweets their love and care 24/7 to prove something and that will never change. i have opinions and thoughts on things that i will never publicly tweet about because for Me that would feel like a performance, and that’s not why i got into this. there’s different ways to be a fan of someone, and my love for my interests is very personal and internal. i genuinely hope this answers your question!
why is casual by chappell roan a mahae song... listening to her debut album makes me think about small town haechie moving to the big city and meeting mark and pink pony club is His song
idk about love, but I really appreciate your existence 🫰🏻💗
super random question but.. do you know any "indie" fics?? like the ones that don't have a lot of kudos or bookmarks but have very beautiful writing and deserve more attention?? weird question i know but i've been searching for fics like yours i just can't find them.. or if not that do you know any fics that you personally feel like have the best writing ever?
oo interesting....i think most of my private bookmarks aren't that, quote unquote, indie because a lot of them were recommended to me, but i can give some that i think have really beautiful writing

i wish i had a better answer for you 🥲 but tbh i haven't been reading much lately but i hope you find something you like!
do you have any advice for writing dialogue? i’m always awed by how great you are at crafting such unique voices for each character and how purposeful the conversations are <333 i’d love to take a peek inside your brain lol
first of all thank you so much! my main recommendation for writing dialogue sounds kind of silly, but genuinely talking to people in real life helps so much. all kinds of people. listening to people talk, observing different vocal patterns, conversation trajectory etc., has helped me a lot. when i write dialogue (even outside of fic) i try my best not to worry about it sounding poetic or deep or even meaningful to the rest of the story (*******at first glance. i believe all dialogue should be purposeful) because most people just Talk like normal people. watching movies/tv and reading screenplays to study dialogue also helps a lot. the golden rule of writing that i live by is showing and not telling. real life conversations are made up of subtext. things that aren't said are just as important as things that Are said. generally speaking, real life conversations are not polished. most people don't say exactly what they're thinking, the 'right' words, people say ummm and uhhhh and they use filler words and they take pauses. they stutter and they forget words and they drag syllables out. people go on tangents and sometimes people talk just to talk. so i find the meaning within that. i think a lot of people get caught up in trying to sound poetic and unrealistically flowery, but the more natural the better (at least for my tastes) seriously, less is more! oftentimes even one single word can be so much more meaningful/give you much more insight into a character's psyche and world than a large monologue or speech ever will. sometimes large monologues and speeches are needed, but most real conversations are made up of cutoff sentences, people speaking over each other, and nonverbal glances and cues. humans are imperfect!
each conversation should reveal something about your characters, and that can be something as simple as "he likes to make jokes" to something deeper like "he backs down from arguments easily" and by revealing something about your characters in dialogue, you make your characterization and narrative stronger. why does he back down from arguments easily? ---> because he hates confrontation. ---> why does he hate confrontation? ---> because he wants everyone to like him and he's scared of conflict. ---> why does he want everyone to like him? ---> and it keeps going. you know what i mean? LOL
in terms of unique voices, that goes beyond dialogue and more into characterization. personality plays a big role in how a person speaks, and so does objective/who they're talking to/what social setting they're in, even how and where they grew up, etc. if you know your characters well, making them distinctive from one another will be achievable because each person you're crafting is unique. really make sure you know each character's point of view, and the rest will come easily
tl;dr, be intentional but don't be afraid to get messy and funky with it. what i mean by that is, don't be afraid to make your characters sound human because they are. i hope this helps at least a little bit 😭
reading sugar hiccup for the tenth time and as someone that struggles with depression and similar addiction issues, you portrayed everything so well. not only that, but the characters are incredible multilayered and markhyuck relationship is so so perfectly messy. just wanted to let you know that this fic was the reason i actually went to look for psychiatrist help, and that it changed my life in many many ways. thank you so so much for writing!! <3
wow, thank you so much for sharing this with me :') as a person that also struggles with depression and 50 billion other things i'm really glad that it resonated with you. even though everyone experiences depression and addiction differently, i really wanted it to be relatable in some way (for lack of a better term) and also respectful/not one-dimensional. that story is really special to me because i wrote it during a really tough time and even though it took a lot out of me, the response made it all worth it. i'm really honored and i'm so proud of you for getting help. sending you much love <3
you've got lots of questions! i have a silly one, do you read works from here/other fanfic writers?
LOL yes it seems today is q&a w/ bo day. i definitely don't read as much fic as i used to because i don't have as much free time as i did when i was a teen (i'm also lazy) but i do read occasionally! i usually try to prioritize my friends' fics and everything else is usually a recommendation or new work from a writer i like and am subscribed to
