I'm 59. Physically disabled with mental health issues. I'm on Social Security benefits. I haven't had sex in going on four years. I rarely go out and only to shops. I believe it's inappropriate to hit on people while they're at work. The loneliness is crushing me. I fee like it's too late for me. Is it?
Frankly, my reply might sound overly positive to you since I'm quite different but no, I don't think it's ever too late. I've been a witness to many great encounters in any age/situation. Maybe you could try to befriend some of the people you see around first instead of straight-up hitting on them? You could try out social media/forums, too - start posting about your hobbies, creations, thoughts, etc. to meet some likeminded people ...no harm in trying dating apps, although I really despise them. Honestly, I'm quite reserved/introverted irl, so I might not have the best advice on this.
All in all, please don't give up. Despite the immediate/instant accessibility of communication nowadays, I agree that it's very tough making friends as an adult.
