my real and honest answer is... no one!!!! if it's not nisei then shingo doesn't end up with anyone. there's no character i can think of that he would rather spend his life with, and i don't think anyone would understand what he's been through. i think maybe he and hinta went out on a few dates, but i think they both decided it'd be better to just stay friends...

my funny netflix answer is our beloved original character nick the american who looks suspiciously (comically) like a younger nisei. he's a young single dad just trying to raise his daughter in her home country... he and shingo hit it off and not only does he believe him when he says hes 40 years old but also he doesn't really mind that he looks like that. shingo glamours himself older for dates in the human world and is happy to have the companionship. nisei hates it so bad but there's nothing he can do about it because he fumbled that for himself :) i like torturing netflix nisei because of his terrible dark deeds. he deserves to be forced to watch as his special boy love is claimed by someone else. he chose this life. now he suffers the consequences.

im 100% weak to the ragtag gang of nazca, koumori neko, the pixies, and mephisto ii (and also yuko a little bit)... there's a great episode where they get extra homework for fucking around in class and of course they play hooky to go fight hedorah with akuma-kun while yuko covers for them. they're definitely the troublemakers... the pixies aren't even really rebellious in the same way that koumori neko, nazca, and nisei are, i think they just love chaos. it's beautiful <3

and this is also more of a fanon in my head thing but i love yurugu and youko and i think they have a powerful old man bond. they're lookin after the young'uns... squad grandpas...

little sansei-kun...!! he is a sweet boy who i love very dearly. honestly, he’s one of the major highlights of the netflix show to me. he has such a big heart and he feels so deeply for everyone around him, and it's so sweet in contrast to ichiro. their dynamic in general feels pretty fun because it’s kind of the opposite of shingo and nisei’s dynamic at the beginning of akumakun 89… it’s cute…

and tbh he's ichiro's loving brotherwife to me. (even though they're cousins in canon i Guess.) i need 2 draw him in a little maid outfit. i think ichiro likes touching him and getting reactions out of him . imo. imo

i also really liked his whole “i’m at risk of going berserk mode if i use too much magic, and i want you to kill me if that happens” thing but i thought it was incorporated really badly (it should’ve been introduced way earlier in the show, and that’s the explanation as to why he doesn’t use strong magical power, instead of him being naturally weak bc he’s half-demon– just to keep consistency with the 89 show, where half-demons are still just as powerful as full blooded demons)

in my AU he's a homunculus created by ichiro at age 4 (created because he missed strophaia and wanted the same kind of bond he lost when shingo and nisei adopted him) and don't worry he stills ends up being ichiro's brotherwife. he’s kinda sorta the physicalized form of the love that ichiro has in his heart (no matter how deep he buries it) for his parents, which is why he looks the same as daddy niseichan and has shingo's little bang swoop. he just suddenly pops into existence in shingo and nisei’s bed one day after ichiro summons life into him and bam, build-a-bro. Bromunculus. which i think pairs nicely with, “ichiro can give him buffs w/ different spells” and “my beloved brother, who brought me into this world, i want you to kill me if i ever lose control of myself”

Anyway the point is i really really love sansei-kun. he’s gonna marry ichiro one day …

OH MANNNN... good question good question!! i'll give two answers, one that exists that's on my wishlist and one that doesn't exist.

the one that exists: the official akuma-kun tsum tsums. there's one of shingo and one of mephisto ii and they should never be separated. they're so fucking cute and i've only ever seen one for sale online (just shingo) and i'm praying that someday soon i'll see them go up for sale as a pair so i can hold my boys so gently in my hands... this one is a "if i see them go up i'm buying them immediately" kind of merch 🥴

(i also really really want the revoltech kitaro figure, because it's just really cool and he's so perfectly shaped. that would be a crown jewel of my boy bookshelf if i ever got it...!) i'll post pics of these things on twt after i answer this
