The movie disproved me, but I still HC that Makoto likes to sew/crochet, I feel he is the kind of person who finds repetitive activities relaxing and does them to evade for a bit from his current situation. (Hmm, or maybe he likes it but is bad at it? Who knows...)
the idea of him just idly crocheting... so true anon
i like to imagine he likes to draw too because like doodling can be relaxing and he seems like to type to doodle on his school work jahskhd
to add on to that; imagine walking into the dorm and just seeing him sat all curled up on the sofa, crocheting as he listens to music, all peaceful... even if he's not that good at it he's just having a good time~
